  1. As much as I love Sarah sexytimes, I'm hoping for Chuck AND Sarah sexytimes. Am I greedy? Probably.

  2. If they use a scene like this / episode season 5 will be great ! forget the plot, forget Morgansect.. Use Chuck & Sarah in this type of scenes and they`l get awesome ratings :))
although if history teaches us something they`l probably get interrupted before Sarah gets to "unseal" his lips or any type of sexy time between them happens...

  3. Love the clip!

But yes, maybe some Chuck seduction & Chuck AND Sarah sexytimes is in order too?

  4. In addition to being a sexy scene it's good comedy as well. The kind of comedy I really like, that is somewhat related to how the normal life works but of course is a bit exaggerated.

  5. It's cool that you could hear the reaction of Leno's audience. Funny stuff.

Anyone know what the song is?

  6. Never mind. "Ice Cream" by New Young Pony Club.

  7. Magnus, o' renowned fine connoisseur, how would you place this in your "Top Ten Sarah Walker moments"? Before or after belly dancing Sarah from S4? And Mrs. Charleezees?
I need to edit my list that I posted as a comment in GeekFurious some time ago...

  8. Let's wait for everyone to see the whole scene before we start qualifying in the grand scheme of hotness.

  9. EW spoiled something potentially awesome....too bad...but it is very sweet and nice.

  10. My guess as to the rest of the scene: Chuck continues to hold out, Sarah gets ticked off, Chuck spends the night on the couch.

  11. Now Chuck...that is what I call a power move bro (Captain Awesome TM)...hehehehe.

  12. This scene looks very much like the one from Seduction Impossible, not that i`m complaining ! have Sarah wear as many skimpy outfits as possible by the end of the series ! although it would be nice if the end of the scene is a little different :)

  13. I can pretty much say for every guy here that they wish they were Zachary Levi in that part of the scene.

  14. Magnus,

I have to applaud you for your "tight-lippedness" about these episodes relative to some other people who are revealing things about this episode.

If people were going to start revealing spoilers and reviews I would prefer them wait until a few days before premiere. Hearing people say things about the episode and knowing us nobodies have to still wait two weeks kinda sucks.

  15. I don't know if this is the right forum for this or not but the Charlie angels show is being canceled so I don't know if this helps Chuck or not with more episodes but if so awesome if not oh well I am just glad we are getting 13 episodes for this season.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Why would a Sony production aired on ABC being cancelled help CHUCK?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I just figure if other show are being cancelled it might make NBC think better of Chuck and maybe give more episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. An ABC show being cancelled won't help Chuck in the slightest.

I don't even think it's true that if all of NBC's new shows tank ( which they are capable of)it won't have any bearing on Chuck getting more epiodes.

What would get Chuck more episodes is high ratings which is pretty much not gonna happen.

I'm guessing Chuck will get around 3.5 million viewers with a 1.0 or maybe a 1.1 in the 18-49 demo.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Chuck premier rating : 1.5/4 4.62M then slowly falling afterwards . Stay about at 1.2-1.13 similar to what is happening with Fringe ratings . One week up next week down - vice versa

At least Chuck will probably beat Harry's Law for the first few weeks LOL !

    ReplyDelete
  20. Canadian Greg, networks base their decisions on what happens on their own network.

I think the CHUCK premiere will be a 1.6 and that ratings will settle down to a 1.0 by the end.

  21. One thing in ratings favor is that the entire run of 13 episodes will run in cold weather months. No dealing with the annual decline of TV viewing that afflicts spring starting with daylight savings time.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I really don't understand why people wonder about the ratings.. the show is already shooting episode 9, they have 4 more episode and they wrap up the series
so even if by some miracle Chuck gets better ratings on a Friday then it got on its usual Monday time slot its going to be too late for an episode extension

So ladies & gentleman as much as i would like an episode extension (Chuck's my favorite show too) it's pretty clear by now that's not happening so don't worry about the ratings, you are ruining the best thing about the last season, now ratings don't count anymore NBC will air the 13 episodes and then bye bye Chuck so relax and just enjoy the show

    ReplyDelete
  23. We discuss ratings because we want to.

    ReplyDelete
  24. AdrianS,

If the ratings are big enough for an episode extension NBC will order more episodes.

It doesn't matter if by the time NBC orders more episodes the cast is done shooting the original 13.

The cast has clauses in their contracts that state if NBC picks up the option for a back nine they are obligated to make them.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous, if that even is your name, while you are correct, the chance of starting shooting again once production ends is small. WB is no longer giving NBC the show for cheap.

Unless NBC wants to pay a premium...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes, I know the chance is small it was just a hypothetical.

Hypothetically if the ratings were big wouldn't NBC pay for more episodes like they did in Seasons 3 and 4.

of course no one expects that to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I understand that Magnus but i don't understand what's the point.. if the faith of the show is already sealed what's the purpose in seeing how the show performs in the final season ?
will it make someone happy if Chuck gets 2.2 ratings and the show is still ending ?
I think is more logical to discuss the quality of the show, the storyline etc. rather then ratings since we are at a point where ratings are irrelevant

    ReplyDelete
  28. Because talking ratings is fun. Don't like it? Don't read it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous, if that even is your name, hypothetically speaking, I could be a billionaire. But I am not.

NBC is not going to spend more for a show than they can make on it. There is NO WAY that CHUCK is going to pull enough ratings on Friday to justify spending $3 million per episode, or whatever it costs when WB isn't eating the loss.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes. i know that's why i said it was just hypothetical.

I was originally just commenting on something Adrian said about NBC not being able to order more episodes.

I realize Chuck has zero chance of getting a back order.

    The name is Brian.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Brian i never said NBC "is not being able to order more episodes" i said NBC is not going to order more episodes and Chuck has only four episodes to shoot until they wrap up the season and the series
so people should get over that already and enjoy the last episodes of the show cause we are not getting any episode extension

if you think the situation from season 5 is similar to seasons 3 & 4 and when a show that wrapped up shooting is as likely to get an episodes extension for the current season as one that didn't then no offense but you don't have a clue

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, i'm sorry if i misunderstood your comment.

It did sound like that's what you were saying if you read the comment.

I did not say that the situation in season 5 is similar to season 3 &4 or it's as likely to get more episodes.

Some fans are curious as to what the ratings are going to be and just like to talk about the ratings for Chuck.

If they like to talk about it what's the harm.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The chance isn't zero. It is just unlikely.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have a question about the scene, not that the ratings/renewal stuff isn't more fun than a barrel full of fun-filled monkeys. To wit:

Where's all the nerd crap in Chuck and Sarah's apartment? Did we just not get a good enough view, or has Sarah Bartowski put her foot down in a way Sarah Walker never did?

    Jim

    ReplyDelete
  35. I do not talk about the ratings because I think the show has a significant chance of getting more episodes if the episodes are good.

I'm just interested if seeing how many people are still watching the show and what their demographics are.

It also pleases me when I see that something I like is also getting watched by others. It would be nice to know that the show still has enough gas in its tank to get a decent sized audience.

That being said, it won't depress me if it doesn't do well. I just would rather know than not know.

Now, if the ratings really suck, there's no guarantee that the show will keep its timeslot. If they really suck, NBC could shuffle it off to Saturday like they did that show "Outlaw" last year. Other shows have been removed entirely and shown online. I don't think anything like that will happen. But, again, I'd rather know what the ratings are rather than be surprised.

As others have said, if you aren't into ratings discussion, don't participate in it.

  36. Hey, I've got a random ratings question. A while ago a friend of mine was an Arbitron panelist. He had this pager doohickey that supposedly logged whatever he listened to. He was told that it was for both radio and TV, but I thought Arbitron was radio only and Nielsen was TV. Which is correct, and should I have forced him to watch Chuck on pain of death?

    Jim

  37. @MediaSavant it's the first time since season2 when Chuck receives real advertising treatment from NBC, promos weeks before the show airs, promotional photo shoot for this season, the shows star Zachary Levi on Jay Leno discussing the new season etc
And with most new shows tanking i`d be shocked if NBC doesn't air the whole 13 episodes, it's not like NBC has great performers on bench waiting for Chuck to get off air

As for the ratings talk, i just don't get it i'm glad people are still excited and looking forward to the ratings but for me it's like watching a basketball game without a scoreboard, no matter how many times the players score it's useless because the result is already set before the game starts

    ReplyDelete
  38. AdriaN'S... I will bet you $1,000 that NBC spent tons more on advertising season 3 than season 5.

And I am going to seriously ban your comments if you keep telling us how you just don't understand why we are talking about ratings. We heard you. We don't care. We are still going to talk about it. You don't have to read this board.

  39. My only hope for season 5 is that they keep hitting the right moments with the characters. I mean that is why Lost worked liked gangbusters for me...The End was a great episode because the characters got the resolution that they wanted. I hope that Fedak just abandons all the morgansect and conspiracy theory and all the mythology crap and just focus on Chuck and his relationships to everyone in his life. I mean Lost had a chance to rap mysteries because they had guaranteed seasons in the bag to play with. Chuck has had half season orders and to be honest the mythology (to no real fault of their own) is a joke. I mean because of the situation Chuck has been in they really have had to play around with the concept of the intersect wayyyy to much, lol. But get Chuck, Sarah and Casey right...I will be a very happy fan!

  40. In Season 3, the promos started around Thanksgiving even though they weren't premiering until January 10th. The promos were constant.

Last year, they didn't appear until 10 days before premiere--and it was the cast promoting The Event.

It's a little bit more this year, but I think that's a function of it premiering later. If it had premiered in September, it wouldn't be getting this much promotion because they had other priorities.

Re Arbitron question: They do have their meters have capability of collecting TV data, but they do not. There were some important experiments a few years ago, but they weren't fruitful. You can read about it here: http://www.adweek.com/news/television/arbitron-nielsen-end-project-apollo-95016

Feeling of unrealized, godlike influence ... waning. Oh, well.

  42. Well, you can still help your favorite radio station. Radio is a medium that needs all the help it can get.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I hope we got to see much of the Chuck and Sarah chemistry. That really works for the show. Also we need to see Morgan and Casey thats really funny.
at the end Chuck and Sarah have a normal life and they are very Happy. Casey is Happy With Gertrude Verbanski. And morgan is also married to Alex.
