Chuck You Tuesday - Episode 75 (Family Friendly)

We talk Chuck Versus the Last Details. We do things a bit differently this time. The episode was so quotable that I tossed my favorites right up front. Should be fun.
This episode is safe for all family members to listen to unless they are super sensitive.

Tracks used in this episode, in order of appearance:
Iron Swan - The Sword
Untitled - The Sword
Maiden, Mother & Crone - The Sword

  1. Awesome podcast. Loved all the quotable...quotes. Just such a blast. Happy to hear you guys enjoyed it too.

As for the bit with Chuck dipping Sarah and Ellie/Sarah Lancaster... LOL. Oh god, I didn't notice that. Was she giving them.. the stink eye? Just.. wow. Hilarious. And yeah.. I noticed her getting bigger in uh.. other 'awesome' zones.

  2. Ellie's look is so funny... it made me roll on the floor when I saw it.

    ReplyDelete
  3. "Shoot the puppy" My favorite Morgan line ever. I've been saying it randomly all day.

I totally know what you mean about Ellie's reaction, it was a serious case of "female dog face" if you know what I mean. Also, if you look behind Chuck, there is some totally random dude just cracking up. Weird motivation in that scene.

  4. Old school podcast. I remember those. Should be interesting. By the way liked how you started the podcast with sound bites. So funny.

  5. did the promo lead us in the wrong direction for next episode per chance?
or are all the clips actually in the episode

    ReplyDelete
  6. Will the cat squad and/or sarahs dad make an appearance in the finale?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Cat squad is at least in the dream sequence. No idea if they will be in anything else

    HT

    ReplyDelete
  8. so are u sure there is a dream sequence and not a real wedding or could there be both

    ReplyDelete
  9. I just saw them in the promo which I assume is the dream wedding cause I doubt they would show the real one. All I'm basing it on.

  10. Get ready for the announcement...

    ReplyDelete
  11. How should i be getting ready? Should i be getting champagne or hiding the sharp objects?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Should I stay up or is this something that can wait till tomorrow? ;)

  13. what announcement? on here? ahhh i always stress during the last weeks of chuck

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yep. They just dropped the announcement that Harry's is back, LOLA is gone, and they'll probably be picking up WW. Chuck news soon to follow I'm sure. I'm sure it won't be good.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It's not looking good according to TVBTN

    ReplyDelete
  16. Breath in... breath out, people... breath in... breath out...

    ReplyDelete
  17. Magnus, I think this should be a Chuckgasmic exclusive. Come on, you can do it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I haven't been told anything for certain so no exclusive.

    ReplyDelete
  19. You getting the same vibes as TVBTN? Arg, now I know what Chuck felt like last night.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Im laughing at wonder woman being picked up.

Is there anywhere you can bet on whether a show will be cancelled within a certain number of weeks? Because id like to put down some money on WW.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, as they say. >__<

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah. I don't even understand why Harry's was brought back, though I suppose with a decent lead it could do alright. Still hopeful for Chuck, but not keeping my hopes up. Just wanted to say thanks, Magnus, for all you've done for the fandom.

    ReplyDelete
  23. how soon should we hear? tonight? i cant go to bed like this!!!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, I'd go with WW not lasting a full season for sure. At least around the same amount of time as "The Cape" as NBC hopes it somehow works just because it has "Wonder Woman" attached to it.

So yeah, not only do we have to sweat over Fedak's crappy warning (He's terrible at hyping things up), but now this. Woo.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Worst case scenario, you have one more episode left. Best case scenario, you have more than one episode left. So, either way, you have more new CHUCK coming.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @wyndzorz agreed on Harry's. Its a first season show that performed rather poorly, with a pretty good downward trajectory iirc. It was lucky to get off the air as early as it did before many post-DST ratings could be factored into it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. when should we hear the news? i have a good feeling for some reason but will not be able to sleep until i hear the news

    ReplyDelete
  28. No clue. Whenever they decide to make the cut, or whatever, it will filter out pretty quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You are killing me Magnus. I have a final to study for and I can't focus when Chuck's fate might be revealed soon. I just hope the "breath people" quote meant that we shouldn't hyperventilate when Chuck gets another season. (crosses fingers)

    Kyle

    ReplyDelete
  30. Will be on pins and needles until I hear the news. :(

In any case, if the next episode does become the series finale (dear God, I hope not), I hope we get a satisfying ending. >_<

    ReplyDelete
  31. Go study. If there is an announcement, it won't make any difference whether you heard it when it happened or an hour later.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Since we may hear very shortly, want to make a last minute prediction?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Will it make a difference if I do?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Really? OK, then I predict CHUCK is renewed for 13 episodes and moved to Fridays.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I predict The EV3NT/Chuck cancelled and they start over mostly on Mondays.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Here's hoping you're right.

    ReplyDelete
  37. nothing wrong with that. as long as it is on the air im am ecstatic!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow.... you are predicting what everyone is predicting? You must be an insider.

    ReplyDelete
  39. haha what the hell are u doing on here wyndzorz?!? u arent aware that this is a site of positive fans where anythigng is possible.... get out of here

    ReplyDelete
  40. And my last comment was definitely not directed at wyndzorz, lol

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hey, hey. I'm terrible with predictions so I'm trying to bank on that by predicting the opposite of what I may want. =[ Don't hate.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I predict a 13 episode pickup with a back 9 option that they will get. It will be a final 22 to get to 100 episodes. It wont air on monday nights. And next year this time we will be talking about how awesome they finished out the series.

    ReplyDelete
  43. J says ...

Wonder Woman will get 6 seasons and a movie !!!

    Lol

On a more serious note , FOX sure brought down the axe tonight . Sad for Matt Miller :( but no surprising . Hopefully your prediction comes to fruition Magnus so I can go over to TVBTN comment section and tell a bunch of those a-holes to suck it for at least a little while longer :)

For your prediction of 13 , you think that will be a final 13 and done , or a 13 with an option ?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I went back and watched chuck dipping sarah when dancing and you are right ellie is giving sarah and chuck a weird look I am surprised they did either edit that part out or just film it again.

    ReplyDelete
  45. ok. so the more i hear about this finale the more i am not looking forward to it. just read fedak's comments on tvline about the finale and it sounds terrible. i want to enjoy this but cant watch an ending for possibly the show if sarah and chuck arent together or sarahs even dead

    ReplyDelete
  46. Kyle, great though the show is, your exams are a lot more important. Shows get cancelled all the time. If it goes then we've had two more seasons than expected and had an almost complete journey for the main characters, what more can you ask.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Paul 80 says Chuck band Aid for February 2012. Haggling over license price. I think WB wants this so bad that it will happen.

    Rich

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks for the podcast. With all your bleeping going on, I am still completely in the dark about the cliffhanger, but I guess it isn´t long until it airs now anyway.

I did notice Sarah Lancaster´s face in the dance scene, because people made gifs from the scene. Hadn´t realized it during the episode. I wonder if Sarah Lancaster even knew, she was in that shot, because I am having a hard time to think of a reason, Ellie would have that expression.

You probably can´t share, if you have any idea about the reason for that expression, but it definitely looks funny within the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Unless Sarah Lancaster is an idiot, she knew she was in the shot. So, she has something in mind for her character... I just can't imagine what.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Pretty damned confident she knew she was in the shot, but maybe she had another reason behind the face. Here's hoping she comes out and says what it is, or we'll just be left here wondering "Why the hell is she giving them the stink eye?!" Haha.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh lord... I am getting the sinking feeling you nitwits think her face is some weird personal thing that you crazy nutjobs come up with in your concussed minds.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Maybe the 'special dance move' mad by C&S (Z&Y) was improvised (not 'choreographed') and did they touch Ellie's belly or she was just taken by surprise and a moment out of balance?

I can imagine if you are pregnant that to keep a good balance is lot less easy and you are more quickly to react in a not-amused way.

Maybe the editors liked this take despite (of even because of) this "accident" and kept in the final cut? All just speculation of course.

    ReplyDelete
  53. What? No. I'm just curious why she chose that particular moment to pull the funny face. It's any normal human reaction; curiosity.

Let's not start with the personal attacks now! I'll have you know that even if I am crazy, I draw the line at nutjob.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Now you are just begging me to increase the personal attacks.

And of course the editors used it because they thought it was funny. It isn't like the editors are BLIND!

    ReplyDelete
  55. "Oh lord... I am getting the sinking feeling you nitwits think her face is some weird personal thing that you crazy nutjobs come up with in your concussed minds." You couldn't be more right Magnus .. :)) i really can't understand why she would make that face (it's probably a reaction to a non`scrypted dance move so it's not a big thing) but crazy fans take it to the limits :)) gotta love the fans :X
    p.s. 6 seasons and a movie FTW ! :D

    ReplyDelete
  56. Why do I have to love fans?

I can't believe I have to put if with these silly loopies for another year...

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well, if you have no idea why Ellie would have that expression, it´s probably not important to the next episode.

Maybe Ellie wondered, if Chuck´s dancing skills came from the intersect, although that wasn´t as impressive dancing skill wise as in Operation Awesome.

Jack posted at TVBN, that a Chuck season 5 would have 13 episodes, if all agree. I guess that´s the same you have been saying and it sounds as if they are still in negotiations.

Hope that is true, and those negotiations are successful.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Silly loopies? Well I never. You're hurting my feelings here, Magnus. Just because of that, they're going to renew Chuck and force you to deal with us for a while longer.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Of course they kept the scene because it was funny, who said differently? But sometimes funny is not the object or the highest priority and in that case accidental funny fragments have to be cut or replaced (and perhaps kept for B-rolls and such). In this scene it worked great however - assuming "the look" was accidental in the first place.

BTW I have a few professional movie and tv editors in my social circles and none of them is blind. If there is one profession for which blindness is a real handicap then it is this one obviously.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Magnus,

It's the price you have to pay for being our leader. You know heavy is the crown and all that...

    Vlad

    ReplyDelete
  61. Awelle, we shall see. I know that last night looked really bleak but I guess WB really wants another season so... if NBC has room, I think we will see it. It got close there for a second, though.

    ReplyDelete
  62. The longer we don't hear about it the more I think lots of negotiating is going on! It's feels like the fat lady is doing her warm up but Sarah has a sniper rifle trained on her.

    ReplyDelete
  63. So it already got nearly canceled, but now there is at least still hope? That´s good to know. And it explains Robert Seidman´s comment on TVBTN and that ET show declaring it canceled.

Please let NBC find some room somewhere. 13 hours is not that much.

    ReplyDelete
  64. We shall see. Things could change for better or for worse at any second... which is why I am not sweating it. When it happens, it happens. I think I will watch 4.23 and maybe a few other of my favorites this week.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Wait, Entertainment Tonight declared it cancelled? I didn't hear about that before.

    ReplyDelete
  66. "I can't believe I have to put if with these silly loopies for another year..."

    another year huh? Cool

    ReplyDelete
  67. I wasn't sneaking in some renewal spoiler. Just saying... it sounded so final last night and then... sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  68. NBC needs to realize that it doesn't matter what they put on monday nights. no one is gonna watch as long as house and DWTS are on the same night period. I think they should just let it reach 100 then put it to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  69. GM15, I think fans need to realize that NBC is not in the business of making CHUCK fans happy. It is in the business of making money. And to make money, it needs to do something to get viewers back to Monday nights and away from those other shows. CHUCK is not going to be the platform to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I wasn´t watching that show and I can´t find anything on their site, but I read on tumblr, that some people watched ET last night and they had a list with cancelled shows, in which they included Chuck.

There were several posts, including here:

    http://thatistheburden.tumblr.com/post/5379547874/et-just-said-to-be-prepared-to-say-goodbye-to-chuck

    ReplyDelete
  71. Among the shows Matt thinks are "on the bubble" this time around: ABC's drama "Brothers & Sisters," NBC's "The Event," "Law & Order: Los Angeles" and "Chuck." Those likely to return include: ABC's "Desperate Housewives," CBS's police drama "Blue Bloods" and NBC's "Harrys' Law" and "Parenthood." Where does it say they declared it dead ?... it only says it's on the bubble so i don't know maybe your talking about another thing... cause this is the article i read on ET!

    ReplyDelete
  72. So... ET DIDN'T say it was cancelled, it just said people should prepare to say goodbye to CHUCK.

    ReplyDelete
  73. :)) this word`game just drives me crazy :)) anyway you take it ... it dosen't look good for our little spy-show :-<

    ReplyDelete
  74. So what now Magnus, are they still negotiating? or they already have the final verdict?

Oh My God, please bring back Chuck :(

    ReplyDelete
  75. If there has been no announcement that it is over, then it isn't over. If you see it on TVBTN or from Ausiello, then you can put the nail in the coffin. Until then, we still wait.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Jack says season 5 if all agree. So unless WB and NBC agree then good bye. This is frustrating but we can't do anything about it. If NBC wants it they will get it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. As I said, I haven´t seen the show myself, and I couldn´t find anything but the "on the bubble" on the ET website either.

I only read other people´s reports on whatever was said on the ET tv show. And those was mostly secondhand reporting as well. So I have no idea what was actually said, but it sounded as if Chuck had been included in a list with shows to say goodbye to.

Sorry, if my wording wasn´t very accurate earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  78. While Paul and Jack may work for the show or NBC, they aren't saying anything of any use to us, unless it is "cancelled" or "renewed."

    ReplyDelete
  79. i read what auselio said and i am a little worried. do u think they are gonna blow charah's relationship? pls give us a hint.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The announcement will come when it comes. Follow the right entertainment news websites on Twitter and you'll find out as soon as they find out.

This incessant whining and asking the same question over and over again is getting so annoying, I want the show to end just so people will just stop it. The whining questions, I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Read the Dear DR or the spoiler blog or the 500 other answers I have given related to these final episodes for a "hint."

$0.25 cashflow per day... and I still have to answer the same question 20 times.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Your cashflow this month has increased a tiny bit. Or didn't you read your PayPal receipts yet?

    ReplyDelete
  83. What entertainment websites do you recommend that we follow on Twitter? The ones with the most accurate info?

    ReplyDelete
  84. cant find anyone of them here.. the answers are about the renewal or not of the show

    ReplyDelete
  85. whether or not Chuck gets renewed or not..

  87. chuck will be downloaded new version intersect at the end this is the clifhanger I think. If you watch the promo in chuck says 'oh boy' scene some intersect lights seems on chuck's face!!! This can change chuck's character like alexei and set apart from sarah????

  88. I wonder if the single-nostril nose bleeds were another shout out to Lost? First thing I thought of.

  89. The things I like in this episode have already been mentioned by some of you guys and Magnus. But what I love about CHUCK can be the references to seasons past...I loved:

    1) The season 1 callback to when Jeffster used the handheld video camera to perve on the pita girl...it was totally in their nature to do the same to Sarah..so when they said they had footage and produced a lovely video I loved that.
    2) I loved Casey letting Chuck put the mission first and another great callback when he told Chuck through facial expressions to hit him...great moment and one that reminds me of how proud Casey is of Chuck.

    3) I am so, so, so happy that someone finally called out Mama B for being a crappy parent and I am glad that it was Sarah. I mean this has been a long time coming but the fact that Mama B took this dangerous mission so close to her sons wedding is just not great at all...she was trying yet again to tidy up her and Papa B's mess instead of focusing on her family. We know that Sarah will always put Chuck before a mission and to see her lay into Mama B was fantastic! and because it is something Sarah always does that makes it all the more sweeter because it is in character moment and a strong one at that. Sarah (and to some extent Casey) will never know how someone can put something before Chuck and I like that.
    4) I like that Mama B recognised that at the rehearsal dinner and praised Sarah for always protecting Chuck first.
    5) The video was awesome...it was so adorable and the sweetest part was Chuck and Sarah holding hands...awwww! so sweet!

I really loved this episode, I loved Team B being in the field together like the old days and working so well. The writers nailed all the right moments...

  90. esozcanesk

Expanding on that, I think this Agent X thing will come to a head and Chuck will end up being reset to how he was in the beginning by the CIA.

    But probably not.

    ReplyDelete
  91. @ Amrit your number 3 and 4 points are so true and I like that Chuck agreed with Sarah in that scene. I couldn't believe Mama B. had the gall to criticize Chuck and Sarah for their spywork when they are essentially fighting a family feud that she and Stephen started before Chuck was even born! And your right it's a great character moment for Sarah. The rehearsal dinner speech was also good, and I thought it packed even more punch considering the previous scene where Mama B. got to see just how much Sarah has and will always protect Chuck, and that she acknowledged that.

  92. Having sung many praises for this episode, I want to point out a mistake they made. The premise of Morgan being sent in to the Vivian meeting was that she wouldn't recognize his face.

But, she should have. Morgan was there at the masquerade bartending with Casey. He jumped into the car when they were escaping and sat right next to Vivian in the backseat.

Then, I presume they all flew back to Burbank in the same plane.

Next came Vivian in Castle and Morgan was there.

Oh well, even though the premise doesn't hold, it lead to an awesome scene. So, I'll forgive them. Shoot the puppy!

    ReplyDelete
  93. @dkd

Morgan was wearing glasses like Clark Kent ! So of course she did not recognise him, when like superman he takes his glasses off he is the beard! Tut tut

    ReplyDelete
  94. Errrr Errrrr

    It'sa me Mario..Spagetti.

Oh well, Morgan was dressed as the help lets just say she glossed him out of her mind.

    ReplyDelete
  95. official announcement to come sunday now.

damn i just want news one way or the other.

    ReplyDelete
  96. One thing I didn't understand was when Ray Wise and Vivian were using the Norseman on those people it killed all of them except Morgan and the MI-6 agent.

Morgan wasn't even affected by it and was then told by Casey to play dead.

Maybe I missed the line where it explained why Morgan and the MI-6 agent weren't killed by it.

I really enjoyed the episode the best part was Morgan and then Casey sniping everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  97. @Anon-

It targets DNA. Presumably Vivian\Riley had the DNA for all the bad guys they invited to the meeting, so since the MI-6 Agent and Morgan werent them, they werent affected.

Somewhere though, those other two guys just bit it off camera.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think it was because they didn't have Morgan's dna, they had the dna of the guy he was impersonating.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Because Ray and Vivian didn't had their DNA. ;)
The real guy (the Morgan look-a-like) died in jail at the same time...

    ReplyDelete
  100. Alex, You just made me have a funny thought...if those other two guys bit the dust off camera by way of the Norseman, then what would that have looked like?
Maybe the two people that Morgan and the British agent were impersonating were either in custody or off doing something somewhere else while Vivian triggers the Norseman...then WHAM! Two healthy people suddenly drop dead of unknown causes in public. That would be scary.
