Chuck You Tuesday - Episode 28 (ADULTS ONLY)

We Almost Discuss CHUCK Versus The OTHER GUY.

ADULT LANGUAGE WARNING! DO NOT let your kids hear this. This is an UNEDITED PODCAST for 76 minutes and then has edited OUTTAKES from PunkaTess' party. All comments are unfiltered and insane.  If you are offended, it is your own darn fault.  In this episode I also offend other podcasts, other sites, and other fan "campaign" efforts.  If you are a major whiner, don't listen.  Your feelings will be hurt and then you will try to make a big deal out of it and I won't care.

  1. Great episode, excellent podcast. The drunkards at the end were a nice touch, makes me pissed I'm 9-5ing now. And although I think almost any campaigning is good for the show, I'd agree the one you're referring to is a little odd compared to what you usually see. Who knows, maybe it'll surprise us

Hopefully they'll improve on last weeks ratings rise. And if I were NBC, I'd have either Tic Tac as the second repeat, or just play this episode again.

  2. Stan, you want the BEST campaign not just any campaign. Too many campaigns cause people to lose focus on the best campaign. We need something that will make lots of noise for very little effort (like the Subway campaign last year). The only thing that will work for us now is something that the media will latch onto, since it will give us mass exposure for no real cost to us.

  3. Good point. I think we should take a cue from "reality" shows and start a fake backstage romance. I'm sure the crazy shippers already have their photo manipulations they can release to the public.

Seriously though, it's too bad there aren't Chuck re-runs on another network. I know there's not enough episodes to be in syndication, but one of the problems seems to be awareness. Even the two guys I've gotten into the show, who complain about excessive cheese, still caught up with the show within a couple of weeks. Hell, I barely knew anything about the show in November

  4. CHUCK got a 2.1 last night and tied 24 during the 8PM hour. That is positive on some level.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Last comment, then I'll stop pestering the comments section.

I think a 2.1 is very solid, all things considered. You guys talked about all the sporting events going on, and I think that had a large effect. Between the NCAA Championship and opening day in baseball, there was a lot going on Monday night.

Plus, highest total viewers in three weeks has to count for something

    ReplyDelete
  6. Stan, it is positive on some level. I mean, it didn't drop in the face of heavy competition. Plus, it tied 24 in that hour (and 24 actually picked up in its second hour). So, it will give NBC an idea of what CHUCK might do in a different time slot or a different day. I think NBC will consider many options when dealing with the future of CHUCK. It could bring it back on Sundays at 9PM after football is over (so, around January or February). It could also try moving CHUCK to Friday nights and see if it can hold an audience there. However, I think that if CHUCK comes back next year, it will be exactly where it has always been. Mondays at 8PM. Everything else gets killed there for NBC.

  7. Liked the podcast, the unedited format stayed hilarious.

Also your plan to lose all listeners will fail because I find this crap to be hilarious, even when it stops being about Chuck.

As for the episode...Chuck finally got some from Sarah and vise versa. Good times.

I would point out Shaw dying as a positive but I never really minded the guy lol. I actually thought he was awesome within this episode. He plays a grief stricken psychopath very well.

Hopefully rumors are true and he is back in the latter part of the back 6 for round 2 with Chuck. He is established as a totally off the reservation bad guy so if people cry about his return (should it happen)...they are morons.

  8. Hey Magnus!
So I LOVED the new ep and your podcast. One comment, when you were talking about the plot hole of the shaw story, you seemed to imply that shaw knew all along that sarah killed his wife and the scene with the eve video and the director was just unnecessary, but I was under the impression that that is the scene where he finds out, and he didn't know before they showed the video. That's why back in vs the Beard Shaw is shocked that they didn't try to kill him. They must have found the video around then and made up this elaborate plot to turn him then. When they request a meeting with him it is to show him the video and turn him, and then in the hospital, when shaw gets a phone call, that is the ring, which is when they tell him the rest of the eve story and formulate a plan to get the cyper plans and kill sarah. i dunno, i could be wrong or i could have just misunderstood you.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Megan,
That's also the vibe I got.

-The mole had this intel that the Ring would find valuable. Perhaps he even let the Ring know what it was, which is what stopped them from killing Shaw when they could have.
-The NSA knew there was a mole, and Chuck's red test was to find him and finish him.
-The Ring knew the mole was carrying the intel, and retrieved it from the body in American Hero.
-They bait Shaw, show him the intel and plot the turn. This is the first that Shaw learns his wife was killed because of the CIA (or so the Ring says) and that Sarah is the killer. The director says, "we'll be in touch."
-The call in the hospital sets the rest of the plot in motion.

This is the best chance for the Ring to get a true insider: the man who knows the most about The Ring, also has a hand in high-level operations perhaps involving the Intersect project, and has made it his stated mission to avenge his wife's death, which he partially blames himself for. The Ring finally has the tool to exploit all of that.

I would like to know more about why he blames himself for Eve's death. Did he recruit her? Did he place her as a double agent?

  10. Whatever they intended to project, I was so disconnected from it that I didn't care. Trying too hard to be shocking or surprising usually just makes it boring. But I won't pretend that this isn't a problem on EVERY spy show. There isn't any spy show that doesn't try to do the same thing and fail at it the same way (for me, at least).

Sometimes, being straight forward is a better process. Though, two of my favorite episodes are Lethal Weapon and Tic Tac. Both of them use a surprise reveal to elevate the shock/tension to genius level. I just didn't feel that last night. And the problem comes down to Shaw. He just doesn't make the show better... well, at least he hasn't since episode 5.

I hope that if he somehow survived the two bullets to the chest that he comes back as a more interesting villain. ;)

  11. I was good and watched the show live, but what are the rules for rewatching the episode. I found this episode so great that I had to watch it again. And since I have no way of rewatching the episode, I had to watch it online. For the way General Beckman treated Chuck, I am glad Sarah shut her down. I hope they take her down a peg or two now that she has lost her golden boy.

  12. Hi,

    magnus

Just listened to podcast. Good job. Amazing ep. I didnt get whole Morgan pushing himself into spy world storyline, but result of that will be awesome, so who cares.

    Just couple of questions plz:
    - I didnt quite understand who is the best paid person on Chuck.
    - Is Brandon Routh signed up for additional eps? This info may be public and maybe I missed it...
    - Did Chris Fedak say, at some point, if they shot "open" or "closed" ending to 3x19? You know what I mean, is this ending like vs the Ring or vs the Other guy?

    Thanks man
    Semenca

    thanks

    ReplyDelete
  13. I can't tell you whether or not Brandon is signed for more episodes. I can tell you that the season finale is open, not closed.

  14. I was wishing for a Colonel moment for Chuck and Sarah. Didn't feel they elevated the hotel room scene to that level. The Colonel scene with them was pitch perfect, from the music, to the setting, to the action. Part of the problem may be for me that I felt somewhat disconnected from Chuck and Sarah due to Shaw and the killing of Shaw, putting together of Chuck and Sarah happened in one episode.

    ReplyDelete
  15. If I were to venture a guess about Shaw's return, I think he'll come back in the finale as a part of The Ring's plans for the intersect they're building. I've wanted to see an intersect v. intersect battle since Chuck got abilities. It would be awesome if Shaw used the abilities in more traditional ways while Chuck has to be more creative (think flashing on a throwing star and using it for his pen/knife).

Magnus, are you planning on doing some teasers for the back 6 like you did for 12 & 13? I thought you did a great job with those, and they are better than "here's what's going to happen" spoilers

    ReplyDelete
  16. I like that their kissing moments were subtle. The Salami/Colonel moments were two people who had yet to give their hearts to each other. Now, they are in openly in love and being loving.

    ReplyDelete
  17. So if they dumped the Buy More, would they still find a way to keep Jeffster and Big Mike around?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Gwindor, I don't know... how to answer that.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I watched the episode just once. I really liked it. There are great moments (others weaker, but who cares^^).
But there is one moment I really really loved. Because it was unexpected, funny and, let's say it, it was very sweet. It's when Sarah says to Chuck: "Thank you for saving me. I appreciated the tank". I loved it. You know, Chuck thinks he made a mess. But Sarah wants to show him that she knows why he did that. And she is sincerely glad he did that. In the past she would be like "What did you do? What were you thinking?". But now, she wants that.

I have a little bit more information on the ratings front. For one thing, the "pure live" rating for Adults 18-34 went up 13% from last week. Live + sameday was about the same. As TVbytheNumbers reported the 18-49 numbers were about the same. Basically, the ratings did go up, but for everyone under 35. The "under 18" rating was up 24%

Also, the ratings for the last quarter hour of Chuck were higher than the average. The 18-49 number in the last quarter hour was a 2.3.

I would love to know what the East Coast vs. West Coast numbers were since it ran against the basketball on the West Coast. Unfortunately, I can't do that run at this time.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love listening to your whole unedited podcasts as well, but maybe that's because I share in the wry humor and odd camaraderie that you share with the others. Long story short, you guys are a HOOT!

PLUS, I totally would've missed the Cali peeps at the end! I was watching the morning news (yeah I'm in LA) wondering if there would be any odd tales of Chuck Mayhem in WeHo ;)

I loved vs The Other Guy and I totally agree with you in that I think they handled the 'romance' angle perfect. I was so scared it was going to be over the top yucky! (If you read the NBC forum, you know what I mean blech)

Chuck and Sarah are together now, the end! Well I'm sure there will be other obstacles, but no more of this PLI, angst crap. I understand why TPTB did what they did, but some of the journey, while sounding good on paper, didn't come across well in the final product.

I think it could've been done better. Even in saying that though, I'm glad they did do what they did. I think just throwing those two crazy kids together without this type of build up, whether you agree with the execution or not, was completely necessary.

So YAY, Casey is reinstated, Morgan is part of Team Bartowski and this season is going to move forward. I'm so psyched for some EPIC spy adventures!

Now we just need people to start watching live. I'm very encouraged by the numbers for last night, especially considering EVERYTHING it was going up against. I was worried we'd have a dip, so holding steady IMHO, was a good thing, for last night ONLY THOUGH. I think with the angst overload out of the way, we should hopefully see a rise in viewership.

Viva la Chuck!! Unleash the Casey! Looking forward to Morgan's spy training!

  22. Magnus,

well, that sucks, considering their chances of renewal. Thats the disadvantage of not knowing if you are writing series or season finale though.

But then again, they did wonderful job with 3.13, leaving some space for new stories and yet closing down all the storylines, so there is a chance that they will not pull another vs the Ring on us.
    Thanks

  23. Diane, sounds like our pure live keeps going up. I think that means my WATCH CHUCK LIVE campaign is working. I am a genius. ;)

    Any news on the +7?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I know you were curious as to what the next gripe from crazy shippers would be, and I think I've got it: "Charah's kiss in 3.13 wasn't nearly as intense as the one in Colonel. The passion is completely gone between these two." (paraphrase from NBC.com)

What a bunch of tools. I'll ignore the fact that Shaw probably shows more passion than these date-rapists will ever have reciprocated to them and ask: seriously? you can't wait 24 hours to bitch about getting what you want?

And Diane, you are an encyclopedia of Nielsen knowledge. Thanks for the updates

    ReplyDelete
  25. Stan, I am not surprised. They can't be happy. They have to find something to complain about. If it wasn't that, it would be something else.

    ReplyDelete
  26. People may not like this, but there is a way to cut the Buy More to cut the budget furthur and keep everything essentially the same. The Buy More takes up an entire sound stage. They could eliminate that second sound stage.

Chuck and Morgan buy a small electronics store (like Radio Shack) financed by the CIA/NSA obviously. It replaces the Orange Orange. It has the same secret entrance to Castle. Chuck and Morgan hire Casey, Sarah, Leff, and Lester as employees. Jeff and Lester still have no clue what's going on. Morgan runs the store and is a part-time spy. Chuck, Sarah, and Casey work at the store sparingly when they can. Ellie and Devin's roles are unchanged. Big Mike becomes the store's enemy showing up to cause problems because he still works at Buy More.

  27. hey, the majority of the NBC forum was thrilled with this episode. no matter where you go you'll always get the people who nitpick.

personally this was my favorite of the season, with beard and tic tac as a close second.

also, I believe beard is going to be the second repeat

    ReplyDelete
  28. Matt, funny you mention it..... :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Beard has to be the second repeat. It's too funny :)
And I don't think the people who talk about the kisses are really complaining. It's just a comment. We can't take everything as a big complain. They loved the episode.

    P.S. I love Morgan.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Matt,

that would be awesome. Like totally, totally awesome. And Magnus's reply gives me hope that its actually possible.

Also, I didnt think its possible to love Casey more than I did before 3x13, but hiring Morgan actually did it for me and saying that Chuck was smart before all this spy stuff did it for me.

Also, I'd note that Shaw was decent addition to this ep and I wouldnt mind him coming back - as long as he stayed just spy and wasnt involved in ANYTHING emotions related, he'll be awesome.

  31. I am antsy waiting for the Live+7 for Tic Tac.

Based on TVByTheNumbers, the ratings for the episodes prior to the drop was:

Chuck vs. the Nacho Sampler 2.97 7,818
Chuck vs. the Mask 2.75 7.790
Chuck vs. the Fake Name 3.00 7,894
Chuck Vs. the Beard 2.73 no data
Chuck Vs. the Tic Tac ???? ?????

Now... will we see a major drop off with Tic Tac? That will tell us a lot about the potential of growth in the final six episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi Magnus,
Great podcast as everyone has already said on here. I really liked the episode last night and hope that the next six truly are at least as great as last night. i cant believe that we have to wait three weeks until we get a new episode. I wish that they just showed 18 and 19 on separate weeks so that we would only have a one week break.

Anyways, I was just wondering if you would be posting teasers about 3.14 or the other six episodes during the break as you did for 12 and 13 as it will definitely help the three weeks go by faster.

    AB

    ReplyDelete
  33. AB, thanks. I don't know what I will be doing for those back six. Those episodes are far more mission oriented than the others so... teasing too much might spoil too much. But I will talk it over with my SSFIs and see what they think. I will probably run less teasers but from more people.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Magnus,
When do they usually release the Live+7 numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  35. What is your rating for Chuck vs. the OG?

    Megan

    ReplyDelete
  36. All, about the folks bitching about the kisses between Sarah and Chuck having "no passion" need to a) stop bitching and b) consider this: there is a difference between love and lust. 2.21 had C/S passion, but how deep was their real connection? I would hazard to say not as deep as it is now. You don't appreciate something until you've (almost) lost it. C/S kisses, particularly in 3.13 were more tender, romantic and indicative of people in LOVE not just 2 horny kids who want to jump each other's bones.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am starting to think Paul is my brother... since he and I had this exact talk a few hours ago.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well Magnus, great minds DO think alike... ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Loved loved and loved the episode. How can I wait three weeks, Magnus? Maybe Tic Tac is a better episode. But what happens here... ehm can I scream? :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Diane says...

I do have the Live+7 numbers for TicTac. I was going to post them, but I had to shorten my email due to work getting in the way.

I'd like to say that the DST drop was made up for by a bigger Live + 7 lift, but that didn't happen. Adult 18-49 rating was a 2.38 (up from 1.92 Live + SD). The Live + 7 added a million viewers, bringing the total to 6.9 million viewers.

DVR's can't make up for every drop. The penetration just isn't high enough.

(On a side note, I am dismayed by the criticisms. I knew people would find something to complain about. I visited the NBC boards briefly on my way home and I probably won't visit again for a while. I'm just pleased I got some infrequent viewers to watch and they all thanked me for it and said it was a great episode.)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Diane, thank you again. So that shows us an actual loss of viewers across Live+7 of 0.35, or thereabout, which is essentially what we lost in Live+SD from the previous week. That represents something like 400,000 people in the demo? So, it could be one large household in a major metro area caught on fire and two weeks later they returned? ;)

What were the viewers in millions for Beard to Tic Tac? Or, I should say, how many viewers did we lose exactly? 400,000?

    ReplyDelete
  42. On a side note, I really need to find a new way of doing these discussions. I never wanted a forum but this comment section thing is annoying me at times. Maybe I am just talking poop and won't do anything about it but... grrrr.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Diane answers...

"What were the viewers in millions for Beard to Tic Tac? Or, I should say, how many viewers did we lose exactly? 400,000?"

    Beard was 7.4 million viewers
    Tic Tac 6.9 million viewers

Almost all of the loss was from fewer live viewers. The number of DVR timeshifters wasn't that much lower than the previous week (about 70,000 lower or so).

Also, almost all of the loss was in the 18-49 group. Mostly among W18-49. Men 18-49 dropped 9%, but Women 18-49 dropped 17%.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Diane, interesting. The loss makes little sense but then people are weird. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey Magnus, just wondering if you know...

When Anna Wu comes back, is she like back back, or is it just for that episode.

    You rock btw!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. "Diane, interesting. The loss makes little sense but then people are weird. :)"

Keep in mind that the number of Adults 18-49 using TV live dropped 9% from the week before due to DST. People aren't weird. They just have lives. Miss a TV show? No big deal.

    We're the weird ones. :-)

  49. Like Christine said, thanks for filtering out some of the BS for us, I'd imagine it can get time-consuming at times. If you do open a forum up, I recommend having a swift and ruthless banhammer for the crazies.

Just looked at the trailer footage for 14-17, and Chuck in the psych ward is what I'm most interested in. What does Chuck do to make Casey and Sarah stand and watch as Chuck is dragged off? It looks like they're on the fence as to whether he's having a break-down or not.

Magnus, any thoughts on the trailer or what you're looking forward to, if you can say something without being too spoilery.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Magnus,

    2 items for you.

    1. Seeing how the ratings have held at a 2.1 given what is happening with other shows (all shows down since last Thursday except Chuck, Parenthood, and Biggest Loser), what are you hearing about the chances for a S4 pickup?

    2. This is my first fandom, and you are 100% right about the Crazy Shippers. Some have started questioning when the other shoe will drop that pulls C&S apart based on a comment in Mo Ryan's interview with Yvonne. They need to enjoy life a bit more.

Maybe they will take up a new hobby - shipping you and Wendy. You did mention that on one of your podcasts. :)

BTW, the outtakes of the podcast where hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Diane, but these things are supposed to have some logic to them. Steady ratings until suddenly they don't tune in for a week? Just seems weird. I know it happens... I do it to some shows, but I usually stop watching those. And that is the fear. That these people checked out and won't return.

Stan, why don't you tell me what it is about. :)

Rob C, chances have not improved... yet. Had PARENTHOOD tanked, I think CHUCK would have improved its chances but... it didn't. So, for every show that succeeds, CHUCK needs to improve its situation that much more.

As for the crazies... they are doom and gloomers. They can't allow themselves to enjoy something. They bring everyone down around them.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm hopeful that Ellie will have more to do in the back six than worry about Chuck and Captain Awesome...will she?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Gwindor, Ellie will play a big part in the final six.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Papa B dies and Ellie will find out Chuck's secret in the finale. Not idea why, just a feeling.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I guess we will find out in 7 weeks.

  56. Hi Magnus,

Here is my take on Chuck and Sarah: I am actually really impressed with how the DYLM scene was carried out, I heard that she was not orginally going to say yes but just kiss him. But anyway I like the way she explained that she has loved him ever since the first time she met him and if you rewatch the episodes from season 1 onwards it does kinda make sense. I do not mean the obvious things like Sarah being jealous of chucks PLIs or even how far she went to protect him but little things like the way in (sizzling shrimp) she touches his hair gently and whenever they save him she would always stoke him gently around his hair and face and there was always very cute and genuine smiles when he was making jokes or just being himself. So it really makes sense why zack and Yvonne won Eonlines greatest tv couple. Sarah has shown alot of affection to Chuck that people in the back of minds do notice even when she tries to hide her emotions it still subconsciously comes out, when he either comforts her (Chuck vs cougars/delorean) or any other time. That DYLM scene made perfect sense. And to those who say that the scene felt a little bit of a wash I do not know they both giggle and smile a lot who is to say that the joy has overcome them that they finally reached that point and are just happy or you know there is no specific way people react when they are in love. I remember seeing a couple shed tears of joy when they were at the alter only because they could not contain there joy at finally being together. Well played Zack and Yvonne well played fedek and swartz. I am happy to see where this goes, There is such a deep deep love there I am so looking forward to see it develop.

  57. Have you made some Chuck and Sarah fan vids Magnus?

The reason I ask is because I didn't take you for the kind of person to do that lol. Not in a negative way or anything.

    -DD

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hi Magnus,

Just a quick question I have seen on some forums that people have noticed that Chuck and Sarahs Kisses have been kind of off lately. Is it because they are in love and they are more tender or is their an issue with Zach and Yvonne in real life. I know Yvonne now has a boyfriend, what do you think ? Do they really get on in real life as friends ?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Amrit, fans project the dumbest things. Zac and Yvonne are actors and even if they hated each other (they do not) or were married to people they very much loved, they could still ACT. So, the idea that their kisses aren't passionate enough is just crazy shippers finding a new thing to complain about.

-DD, I have made Chuck and Sarah romance videos, yes. They are on YouTube. One is called "NBC Chuck and Sarah - Skinny Love" and the other is "NBC Chuck and Sarah - Signs of Fear." The reason you think I wouldn't be the kind of person to do them is because you have a picture in your mind of me that is not accurate. :)

  60. "you have a picture in your head of me that is not accurate. :)"

You are right, the people who said that they do not kiss open mouth or with tongue are just crazy shippers! I should have thought more careful before asking a dumb question

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hey Magnus. I now appreciate how right you were when you predicted that despite the direction the show has taken, crazy shippers would still find something to complain about. The lack of passion in the kisses stuff is seriously nuts. In a moment of weakness, I strayed to another fan site and actually came across a comment from some guy who is apparently a clergy type, and was opining on the issue, even suggesting that the Paris scene warranted a French...I'm not making this up, I swear on a stack of Bibles (no pun intended). Yep, I was a little freaked out. Serves me right - I won't go there again. If and when the show disappears, I'll miss THIS place.

Mate (I am Half English so we call everyone mate) you are right I was really happy with how it was going until I read those sill forums, I am going to take your advise and enjoy the ride, and I will keep watching and voting for all those save Chuck campagnes, it is so worth it.

  68. Hi Magnus,

By the way I noticed when Casey got his rank back the grunts finally came back, man I love it casey in full swing being all one liner is so cool and to see him back the dynamic three back together is gonna be so so cool, I can really see the ratings go through the roof for just that reason. Who knew when casey is happy he grunts and is all powerful and all that. Come on Chuck !

  70. I'm ready to enjoy "Chuck" with the new scenario of Chuck and Sarah as a couple, Casey back... and Morgan :)
I hope the writers will have the courage to go on with the story, with Chuck and Sarah together. They are talented writers and they can tell interesting stories, even if this part of the story is "wrapped". At WonderCon Josh said he doesn't believe that once you put them together it's all over. We have to see what's his plan. With the back six and with (hopefully) the fourth season.

  71. As I have now said a number of times... they are not splitting them up. Chuck and Sarah are staying together. There will be some issues for them but every couple has issues. But they are together now. The only thing that will split them up now is... death.

  72. If Sarah gets killed I'm out lol.

If Chuck dies (or appears to I should say) for a cliffhanger I'm okay with that. :P

I still think Chuck's dad will end up dying, I'm usually wrong though.

  74. If its Morgan or Casey that would suck pretty hard.

I could see them killing Ellie or Devon, although I'm not sure you could count them as a main characters. I could see something like Ellie dying and Chuck losing it, but I think that is pretty dark for this show. Never know though.

  75. Hi Magnus,

I actully forgot the most important part of the resolutions of the last episode, Chuck and Sarah get it on and are in love check, Morgan is on the team and the comedy will get better check, and finally the best best part or the coolest Caseys days of legalised body snatching are back check!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Man seeing old big bad john smacking the bad guys around and shooting them while interacting with chuck and hopefully in my mind he starts to you know always make chuck feel self conscious in their special way.

  76. Sorry Magnus, I didn't want to say that I'm worried they'll split them apart. I'm not. It was a general thought. By the way, I was thinking to vote for MagnusIsAGod, so you have to forgive me. I want a forgiving god :)

Maybe Shaw will die again :)

  77. Hi Magnus,

You know I just realised why I like casey so much, I am a fan of Jonny cash and casey reminds me of a good old boy, a gun slinger who would walk the streets and challenge anyone, he is the big bad john from the song big john! He probably was the john who sent the louisiana man to the promised land with a big right hand, he never said much since he was shy and would only say hi, Big bad john is big bad casey, what a legend!

Of course Sarah is not going to die! The writers are goofy at times but they are not INSANE!

  84. This kiss analysis is interesting in that of all the over analysis I've seen, this one is a first. There are definitely some men out there that don't seem to get that Sarah is not real. Is anyone shocked by that news?? ;-) I think people don't realize that the writers and actors don't necessarily analyze everything so deeply. Plus these aren't "real" kisses...TV and movie kisses aren't "real". That didn't shock anyone did it? ;-) Add to that Chuck is pretty much PG-13. The kisses have never been full on faux french kissing. Yeah..if you really examine the kissing, it was most fun, relieved, kissing than the passion of Colonel. But I think the scenes called for that this time. Zach and Yvonne don't go home together at night. They don't come to work to stick their tongues down each other's throats even if Chuck and Sarah would. Maybe that shocks someone? ;-) I hate to burst those 35+ male bubbles out there.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Coop, more importantly, the kisses were meant to be loving not lustful. One of the biggest problems with the crazies, as I have said for what must be over a year now, is that they live vicariously through Chuck's ability to "get" (nail) Sarah. So, they project everything they want into the show. Therefor, they can't just ENJOY the moment, they have to SEE THEMSELVES in it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. [name redacted to protect them], I agree with everything you said... but I rejected your comment for essentially detailing the insane ramblings of idiots about Yvonne's personal life. I am fine talking about the show and its characters but no personal life stuff. It is even creepy to talk about people talking about people they don't know.

    Thanks. :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Magnussssssssss,

Personally, I found this episode rather satisfactory...not wholly satisfactory though. I think the way that they went about dispensing of Shaw was a little off. Of course, Fedak knew everyone would be thinking about Chuck and Sarah lip boxing earlier in the episode. A small (gigantic) thing like Shaw attempting to kill Sarah over her "red test" (aka her job)was apparently of little importance.

Being, like yourself, a bit of a romantic, I couldn't help but be happy with Chuck and Sarah coming together. It was meant to be. Fedak and Schwartz set up the story to come to this point. Not only that, Yvonne and Zac's chemistry is so intense that it would be almost unbearable for them to be apart.

I agreed with Prez from the podcast. This episode really turns a page for me, in that I can now go forward and enjoy the show that I fell in love with, the show that I've dedicated time and money towards. So even if the show is cancelled (God forbid)I feel like good has won over bad, and Casey is still the best cleaner the NSA has to offer.

That's all I got to say about that.

    ~John

Magnus you are evil, getting people on that train of thought. ;o)

Seriously though, the main candidate in my head has always been Orion. But what if the death wasn't a real "death" but a faked one. If that is the case, it could be "John Casey" dying and becoming someone else so he can be with Kathleen. Or "Chuck Bartowski" dying so that Charles Carmichael can cut ties to protect Ellie and Devon.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Understood. Probably shouldn't give the crazies anymore reason to look Yvonne and her boyfriend up on the internet. Which was the point of the comment--the crazies.

Let's talk about this epaulet fetish they've got going on with Chuck then! Anyone else notice this? I think Zach has played a more mature, confident Chuck really well this season, but the shirts are distracting me!

    ReplyDelete
  92. If a main character dies he can always go to a clinic in europe. They bring dead agents back to life and make buggy cipher's.

I'm happy with 3x13, very gratifying to see the writers tie up the arcs we've had so far in season 3.0, looking forward to 3.5 and the last six episodes :)

To finish off my impression of Brandon Routh's job in 3.0; He convinced me when he played the good guy and tried to support the people around him. However, his dark side wasn't very convincing - and the devilish romancer wasn't properly brought to bear in the scenes where that was called for with Sarah. Some of it may rest on the writers - but I think the majority of it is that Routh lacks the experience to play such a role. So, in the end i think it was a casting error more than anything else. I'm not a Chuck/Sarah shipper, so as far as I'm concerned he should've been more heavily involved with Sarah early on to better mirror Chucks escapades with Hannah. Anyway, he's floating down the Seine now - leaving the final six episodes a clean slate in terms of relationship drama :)

I had a similar thought, Paul :) The death of someone will affect their relationship. But I don't really think that will happen. After three years they are together. Why the writers would do that? Besides, if the last six episodes are a preview of what season four would be (JS said that)... no, they wouldn't do that.
Whatever. I'll enjoy the next episodes. They'll be awesome.

  95. Hi Guys,

I must admit someone above mentioned that crazy shipper fans have actually gone to sites to belittle yvonne on her choice of boyfriend and saying she has bad taste, etc and that zac and her should hook up. I think that is way to personal and out of line, calm down fans this is a show you know the actors do clock out at the end of the day calm down! Just enjoy the show move forward in a happy place.

    ReplyDelete
  96. In regards to the Back 6, I think it's pretty convenient that Ellie is a neurologist and Chuck has the potential for having serious neurological difficulties.

If they aren't going to use that in the near future, it's certainly groundwork for a possible storyline down the line.

  100. I am interested in your opinion, Magnus, on two topics, if you have the time and interest.

One, do you think the ratings for the 2 upcoming repeats, will in anyway help or hamper the "Chuck" renewal effort?

Two, I have seen "fans" post hundreds of times over the last 2 seasons that they want Chuck renewed, BUT, not on Friday night! That is where shows "go to die" don't you know. Personally, I have watched the casts of Ghost Whisperer and Numbers (both crap IMO) pick up paycheques for many years, by being a Friday show. I would watch Chuck on Saturday morning at 7 a.m. because Yvonne and Jeffster will always be MUST Watch Tv to me!

    ReplyDelete
  101. bsp, I would welcome a move to Friday nights at this point (for a 4th season). I would rather get a Friday slot than NO SLOT.

And the repeats won't hurt. They could help if people who have never seen the show before decide to tune in.

  102. Magnus ,

    Quick couple of questions...

    1) Since Warner Bros owns Chuck , if NBC canceled it , would it stand a better chance of getting picked up by a different Network than if NBC owned it ?

    2) Do u think NBC is taking it's time on Chuck knowing that if they green light a 4th season for say 22-23 episodes that they would most likely give the show a 5th season so it could reach the 100 episode mark and get all the syndication money that would come from that. Or would Warner Bros get that money and not NBC ?

    Jules

    ReplyDelete
  103. Jules:

    1) Than if NBC owned it? That question doesn't make sense. So, I will answer it as if you asked me that question MINUS that part. -- It is unlikely that any network would pick up a bubble show they do not own. WB does not own a majority share in CW, so that option is unlikely too.

    2) No. Unless WB offers NBC some big share in a syndication deal (unlikely), the usual syndication would not be very beneficial to NBC. WB would love to make it to syndication but needs NBC to run the show for at least one more full season, if not two. NBC would need a reason to do that. One scenario would be if WB drops the licensing fee for CHUCK to a level where NBC cannot pass it up. I think that is what NBC is hoping for and why you won't hear about renewal or cancellation until the last second.

Is WB likely to do that? I don't know. It depends on whether they think they can even sell it to syndication. I think that if the rating don't improve over the next few episodes (next two or three), that NBC will cancel it a week before the finale.

Regarding the episode: There was a line that Chuck feeds Sarah about halfway through where he says (and I'm paraphrasing):
"We're never going to get our chance, are we?"
Sarah responds (paraphrasing again): "Just this one last mission, then you'll see."
That had to be a nod by the writers(or maybe even a dig at) to the shippers crazy or otherwise, right? It seemed so obvious that it made me laugh and I loved it, to be honest.

Regarding the shippers (crazy and otherwise): I think you inadvertently stumbled upon the new thing that we will worry and gripe about: The prospect that TPTB will break up Chuck and Sarah sometime in the future (this season, next season, whenever). I think some (myself included, tbh) are already fearful of this possibility and we haven't even seen one full episode of them together. Highly irrational, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Hi Magnus,

I just realised after watching the pilot again that she fell in love with chuck after he fixed her phone and before he saved the general at the hotel with the computer virus, so basically she fell in love with him in the pilot episode. Yikes, man how good for chuck that he can be himself and that is enough for him and her, great.

    ReplyDelete
  106. We don't even know if "Chuck" will have a season four, we haven't watched one episode with Chuck and Sarah officially as a couple, and we are already worried about them breaking up. Come on. Aren't we able to enjoy the show? It's like someone who is learning how to drive a car, worried about the climb one hundred miles away. Drive. The climb will be a problem when you'll be there. And maybe there'll be no climb. Or it'll be easier than you thought. Let's enjoy the show, please.
The people who talk about the personal life of the actors are beyond idiocy, if they are serious. It's none of your business. And Yvonne and Zachary are not Sarah and Chuck.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Not that you need more examples of how nutty the crazy shippers are, but I couldn't help myself. A group of people you continually make fun of and torture keep coming back here for info. So look what they have done with one of your more recent posts:

"I think DR just gave it away that they are going to be married.
This is his quote. "As I have now siad a number of times... they are
not splitting Chuck and Sarah up. They are staying together. There
will be some issues for them but every couple has issues. But they are
together now. The only thing that will split them up now is... death.
Well "until death do us part" that is pretty permanent. I say they
    elope in 3.14.
Ali fullfill her promise to the Shippers. Now the new angst is trying
to hide it from everyone. "

Where do the come up with this crap? Then again I am reading it, so perhaps I should go get a life, stop reading it and enjoy the weather.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Rob C... sigh. Those silly buggers.

Oh and Ali Adler has no promise to fulfill. She said something like "we all want that" and that it "might" happen (she may have said it could happen). But as I said LAST YEAR even before season 3 was shooting... it is no shocker that Chuck and Sarah are going to end up together. It is no shocker that Chuck and Sarah will one day marry. This is about HOW THEY GET THERE. This is a great love story with lots of obstacles... but their love always wins.

So, unlike other shows that make the payoff the end of the story, on this show the payoff is only the middle of the story. 48 episodes down and we are just entering the next phase.

Let me project more for the crazies. As a writer you don't toss out everything in one season. You have to leave something for the next season. Remember what I said way back in episode 12 of the podcast (I think it was 12)... about winning the Super Bowl. :)

  112. They did sleep together, Shaw is a closer, Awesome said so :p

But really what happens in 3.19 is simple. Chuck dies. Sarah names Shaw's baby Chuck in honor of her dead Chuck, season 4 is fast forward 25 years, Chuck Jr gets a strange email from Papa Bartowski, reads it and ... there's something strange in his head. And a geriatric Sarah is protecting her son.

  115. I always wanted to see a show take the lead character and kill them... then run the show for a few more seasons. I know it has happened where a lead actor died and the show continued ("8 Simple Rules... for Dating My Teenage Daughter" being the most recent) but I don't think it has ever been planned.

I get the feeling that this show will not be the first to try it.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Shaw and Sarah slept together or they didn't. Who cares? Is it really so important? The important part, for the show, is how much Sarah cared about her relationship with Shaw. It was there. Then Chuck told her he wanted to be with her, he told her he loved her. And... Shaw was just a passer-by. The rest is nonsense.
About the "funny" speculation on Shaw/Sarah's baby, I don't think it'd be a bad idea because it'd confirm that Shaw and Sarah had sex. I don't care about that. I hope they did... for them :) It'd be a bad idea because it would be a typical twist of annoying tv shows. And Chuck is not an annoying tv show.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Bluth, you hope they had sex? Unless you are a Shaw and Sarah shipper, why would you hope for that? I would hope Sarah didn't sleep with a guy who tried to kill her and whose wife she murdered. But then I am silly.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Of course I'm not a Shaw and Sarah shipper. Do they exist? :) And you're right, "hope" is the wrong word. Let's just remain with the "I don't care" if they did. And I don't care because it isn't important. Of course, if there'll be a baby, it is important. But I said what I think about those kind of twists.

By the way, I have to confess that I don't think they had sex. The writers, in my opinion, tried to say that: Sarah says the DC thing was about work. The date in episode twelve is their first date. When they are together in the last scene of episode eleven, they talk about Chuck. And Shaw asks Sarah if she is still in love with Chuck. It doesn't seem a relationship to me.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Sam 04:
On the podcast you mentioned a nitpick of the year, I have a nitpick about this episode but it isn't as bad as the one on the show. When Chuck confronted Shaw in the cafe why didn't he use a tranq gun or pistol whip him? Chuck knew that he couldn't fire a real gun but he wouldn't have had any problems tranqing Shaw.

Shaw and Sarah didn't sleep with each other because it wasn't discussed on screen. By contrast Chuck having sex with Jill and Hannah was shown on screen. If the writers wanted us to think that Sarah and Shaw slept together they would have showed us something other than a kiss in the secret bunker. That ends the discussion as far as I can see. Not to mention the fact that they barely touched each other after 3.08

    ReplyDelete
  120. Sam, I talked about that on one of the podcasts. If it doesn't happen on screen, or talked about on screen, then it didn't happen. It is like a rule of moving picture story telling. :)

    ReplyDelete
  121. No they didn't sleep together, Ali just used the Sam thing as a substitute for sex

And yeah I didn't think of this myself, somebody else did on another blog.

But either way what difference does it make? We got the most shipperific episode coming in 2 weeks (and a day), we got apparently some cool stories coming up in the back 6, I think it's time we all quit obsessing over Shaw and move on. Shaw was a carcrash for the show. We all survived, let's not dwell on it.

  122. I watched Zac put on the prego belly having Josh's Child, Is this fortelling the future, Sarah having a child and since Josh is such a great spy that he becomes the nanny? I could just picture him sitting in the surveillance van with one of those front backpacks with a child handing out directing the team. Or Sarah with morning sickness and the hormonal changes. It could really be funny watching her bitching at Casey and puking on his shoes. I disagree with all the crazie's out there. The kiss when Beckman interupted was sweet and Yvonne played it perfectly not looking at Beckman but wiping the tear from her eyes.

  124. The kisses were good. In the DYLM scene the kiss needed to be subtle. It's a romantic scene. In Castle the kiss is good, it's like saying I'll see you later. The kiss in Paris is good too. At first is a Thank you kiss, and it's like in the DYLM scene. Then it starts to be more passionate, but the General interrupts them. After that, it's good too. Covers.

Ok, now give me the Casey-Morgan team :)

  125. Rich C here. Former Crazy shipper. I am now blissfully peaceful shipper. Loved this episode plot holes and all. I think the show finally delivered. Sarah in love and not afraid to show. I agree the kisses were not lustful and actually kind of sweet and romantic. I think the most important kiss was the kiss in Castle. Not only did Sarah kiss Chuck To reassure him of her love she did it in Castle. Wow how far we have come. Also her shutting the computer on the General. We go from 49B to Sarah just throwing caution to the wind. Now next episode looks like so much fun. If anyone continues to complain about Chuck and Sarah and the passion with kisses blah, blah. Shippers had a reason to gripe about the WTWT. Well that is over so lets all take Ali's advice and calm down and enjoy the show we love. For everyone still complaining please get a new hobby. 135. Shaw really was wasted potential. It's amazing how different he is in First Class from the later episodes. He seems to have so many different mysterious connections, even has a bit of a sense of humor (like when he's telling Chuck to test the pen on Jeff). Oh well, at least he's gone now.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I hope that they pull a Bryce with Shaw in season 4. They make Shaw the new director and he takes his revenge on Sarah and Chuck. Shaw knows their secrets, knows their weakness and would seriously make for dramatic action. But he would have to hide from Casey. Where was the Blackmail, I thought it was effective negotiation. I credit the writers for maturing Casey so that he can effectively use Chuck and Morgan in the spy world and not just Comic relief, I hope they deal with General Beckman and not sweep it under the bed. She suspended Chuck, allowed Sarah to be placed in a dangerous situation, has to deal with the Shaw/Sarah relationship overnight becoming the Chuck/Sarah relationship, the AWOL, and having to deal with two bumbling Civilians . Does she still have plans to move Sarah to Washington? I am sure the answers to my questions is Watch April 26th at 7:00 PM.

  137. ZD, I agree. Shaw would make for an awesome villain because he knows all their strengths and weaknesses. He would be for The Ring what he was for the NSA/CIA. I have been saying for over a year that CHUCK needs a reoccurring villain. I think Shaw would be one. Too bad he is dead....

  144. Thanks. I almost did a podcast this week but decided to start working on my third Chuck and Sarah video (well, technically it is my fourth but this is the third in a specific storyline of videos). I had not intended on doing this video until the season was over but since 3.13 ties up a specific storyline, I figured it made sense.

So, there will be a podcast next week... and probably a new video too. :)

  145. I have to agree with JaneMaria and Lola here, I have watched this episode at least once a day since it aired. The romance the kisses the expressions are truly amaizing. I hate to admit it I do miss the podcasts but do not miss the swearing. If the videos are anything like the podcast I would really love the see them. Can you tell me where to find them please. I am truly woried about season 4 after the ratings.

  146. I don't know if you can answer this. What you knew was going to happen, compared to what was actually filmed. Did that change your opinion on the Shaw arc? Like when Routh's arc was extended, did that change more of the story? Its just watching the season again, the middle part of the season lost me. Not each episode but the overall story arc.

  147. JC, the Shaw arc worked better on paper. I just think Yvonne and Brandon lacked chemistry and so the Shaw and Sarah romance never came close to that of even Chuck and Hannah. Chuck and Hannah were adorable together. Shaw and Sarah were weird together... at best. So, it sucked the air out of what should have been more powerful (the final two episodes of the arc). Still, I think the final few scenes went well. Shaw makes for a great villain... me thinks.

Bree, are you asking for the Chuck and Sarah videos? Here is the link to the first two I made (the third will be shorter and different):

Chuck and Sarah - Skinny Love
Chuck and Sarah - Signs of Fear

  148. I figured it was something like that. I never really got Sarah freaking out about Shaw sacrificing himself in American Hero. It seemed like they danced around the whole S/S thing and then went all out in that episode.

But I really loved Zach's delivery of why he was going after him. That to me was some of best work he's done on the series.

One more question if you don't mind. I think it was on your American Hero podcast someone mentioned how Sarah was going to feel stupid for not talking to Chuck or something along those lines but it'll never be brought up. And you said don't be so sure, was that an educated guess or spoiler?

BTW thanks for answering the questions. I appreciate it.

  149. I agree - there was no chemistry between Sarah and Shaw and creepy is a good description. Oh well, it's done now. Time to move on.

As far as the podcasts go, I guess I'm demented because the cursing doesn't bother me at all - it makes me laugh harder. I listen to it at my desk with headphones on and my co-workers wonder what the Machiavellian giggles are about.

  150. I agree that Shaw would make an excellent villain. Everything that made him a horrible person to route for (no emotion) would make him a great villain. The problem is so many people disliked BR's performance on the show as CIA spy extraordinaire that they probably wouldn't even tune in to see his performance as a super villain. It will be interesting to see what they decide to do. However, I'm thinking that if we get a season 4 they would be better off bringing back Mark Sheppard and maybe making someone else a recurring villain. Basically pick anyone off of Lost for the villain role, they're all fantastic at it.

  151. GREAT vids Magnus. It made me remember what I loved about Chuck and Sarah and why I was so bummed they lost that momentum this season. They really did an excellent job with them for 2 seasons. Hoping the back 6 pick up where 13 left off in terms of tone.

  152. JaneMaria, cursing is always fun. I don't really like doing PG podcasts because they feel unnatural (most adults curse when not around children). Though, the next podcast will be PG so... hopefully it rocks (Bailey should be on it so how could it not rock?).

JC, I don't remember the discussion off hand so I can't really tell you what I was talking about at the time.

  153. Just a couple of Ideas that I have been twitting about.

    1. buy chuck shoes if you don't have them already and take a picture of you wearing them and in the picture put "save Chuck" or "we want 4th season" and send it to NBC HQ.

    2. for those who live near NBC HQ dress up as your favorite chuck character and protest. but make sure it's more then you that is going make sure there is at least 5 or 10 of you going.

    those are my ideas

  154. Hi Magnus,

First thing I like to say about the Bracelet if anyone has not said it already, the bracelet is the single biggest thing that help me keep the faith in season 3.1 that Sarah and Chuck would be together in the end. Why? because Sarah kept it and that means that she always wanted to be chucks girl, no matter how confused she got she knew the meaning of that bracelet she said to him when he gave it to her that this is something you should give to a real girlfriend she knew the importance of it. So ergo if she gave it back to him then she would not only admit to him but herself that it is over. Now even though after final exam she thought that chuck had changed she still kept it because I think she knew deep down even though she said she no longere loved chuck that she was willing to be with him no matter what, why do I think that because she kept the bracelet. I am a beleiver that in American hero that before casey told her the truth she was going to meet chuck that is why she had his picture out I think that all season she has wanted to be with chuck and always kept the hope that she would be with him but she wanted the innocent chuck and that has been her internal battle.

  155. Zac says he thinks the show is more likely to be renewed than canceled. What do your 'insiders' know that he doesn't?

OR is he just talking a good game because he kinda has to?

    ReplyDelete
  156. yTedK, you should be asking Zac what his "insiders" know that mine don't. ;)

It is not like my "insiders" said there is no chance in hell. But it will come down to ratings and most of NBC's pilots taking a dive into the trash compactor. WB could also drop the license fee to a point where NBC can't possibly say no.

I have heard some new rumors about what might happen to CHUCK but I have not heard anything solid so I am not talking about it yet. Then again, if it was a solid rumor, every site would already be talking about it.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I wish NBC and or WB would look at Wednesday night. I just watched the American Hero and the other Guy because there was nothing on the TV to watch. I streamed it from NBC to my TV and got good entertainment for 1.5 hours before I had to take out the trash. I can not wait for the Honeymooners.

  158. Magnus ,

got a quick question if you can answer it .

When Chuck goes loony in that scene at the end of the promo , will that be a continual arc for the remainder of the episodes ? Or is it a one off ( happens in the beginning , solved by the end of the episode type deal ) ?

    Jax

    ReplyDelete
  159. Jax, I can't really answer that.

Bree, if the show was doing better, then I am sure they would consider it.

  160. I think it continues in vs the Living Dead. Chuck's problem could have something to do with this "Living dead".
But obviously they pushed the "new obstacle for Chuck and Sarah" card, in the last Ask Ausiello. But does Schwartz really think those kind of teases are good for ratings?
I think your teases should be official, Magnus. It'd be better.

    ReplyDelete
  161. ALe, why do you blame Schwartz for what Ausiello does? The dude says what he wants to say. Plus, trust what I say, not what Ausiello says, and you will be fine. :)

I also agree, my teasers should be "official" but since I didn't kiss enough ass to get on the "cool" list, I am going to have to accept being a rebel. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  162. Ausiello says "Schwartz teases...", that's why I made his name :) And of course I trust you more than Ausiello. But my problem isn't the idea of a "new obstacle". I could live with that if it's well done. But the fact that underlining this aspect is a good idea. After all you're right. Ausiello is to blame :) Maybe he likes this kind of things. So he thinks everybody like them.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Ausiello gets like a million hits to his site. I don't really get anywhere close to that so... he gets to do what he wants. :) I also think Schwartz and Fedak love playing the angst card and will always play it... even when it doesn't really exist.

But then I told you all that there would be obstacles. I also already said that specific episode would be where crazies would freak and say this was a way to keep them apart. So, Mike is a week behind me. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  164. "I told you all that there would be obstacles. I also already said that specific episode would be where crazies would freak and say this was a way to keep them apart."

Yes you said that. So I wasn't surprised. It's just that they are out of "that game" for one episode, and they are already playing the game again. Ok, they can do it. But don't tell that to people like it is the next cool thing that happens :) It's not good advertising. This is a spy show. Tease me with some spy stuff. It helps the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Well... they are happy to tease the relationship stuff because they know it gets people talking. They don't want to tease the spy stuff, or the main story stuff, since they really want to keep that a secret... as much as they can.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I love how people are already freaking out about the possibility of them getting split up again when they haven't even had the episode with them completely together lol.

God some people in this fan base are nuts.

    Doug

    ReplyDelete
  167. Doug, I don't call them crazy shippers just because it is funny. ;)

They will work themselves into a frenzy worrying about it and then they will get the episode and be like... oh... that was actually a good episode. But I KNOW THEY ARE BREAKING UP SOON! And then they will hang on every single thing. It is cool. I think that is what The Schwedak wants anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  168. After the Ausiello tease I am sticking to my guns and projecting that "Shaw will be back" and your " to bad he is dead..." was just a feint. But you are right lets get on with the Spy stuff. Keep the C/S relationship fresh with the inherent dangers of the spy world, Train Awesome so that he becomes Awesome and not some scared wuss to protect Ellie and let Morgan be Morgan with the funny thug Casey.

    ReplyDelete
  169. ZD, Awesome is already awesome. He just wants to protect his wife... which is admirable.

  170. Doug: "I love how people are already freaking out about the possibility of them getting split up again when they haven't even had the episode with them completely together lol."

If you are talking about my posts, maybe you didn't get my point. I don't care about Chuck and Sarah.
    But I have a confession: I'm a Jill fan.

  171. My thoughts are that NBC have become cave dwellers. They should conceed Monday nights and try out new shows there. Mondays are owned by ABC and CBS, with Fox right there, Tuesdays are owned by CBS with the exception of 10:00 Wed nights are open and Thurs NBC has a strong following. NBC should take its highest rated current shows (with the exception of the curent thursday night line-up)move them wednesday night to try to Owne that night. Get people watching NBC on Wednesday night ABC is trying but struggling. And if moving the show to wednesday night does not increase rating, then cancel it. Continuing canceling shows does not promote viewer loyalty. Continually putting good quality shows with loyal fans up against mega shows is equavalent to beating your head against a brick wall, not only does it hurt it is stupid.

If you're really a Shaw fan, well... nobody's perfect.

  174. Don't worry. Listen to Magnus. Chuck and Sarah are in love. They won't break up (this season) :) They will have problems like any other couple. You know, problems like one of them goes crazy, things like that. Don't tell it's never happened to you. It happened to me. I was with a girl who was totally nuts. And I'm the one who went crazy :)

  176. JC, thank you. I do have lots of family still in Iceland but they all live on the west coast so they are not in any danger... at least yet.
