While I am sure he is right and that there will be lots of tears at the end, will those of us who aren't easily impressed by Michael Bay find massive problems with the story? I predict yes.
But will some people say it was the most awesome episode ever?!?!?!?! Yup.
I am still counting on the penultimate episode being amazing... just like for seasons 2, 3, and 4.
The show usually does a good job with finales and penultimate episodes, IMO. Sure it's not flawless.. but overall I was very happy with Colonel, Ring, American Hero, Other Guy, Subway, and Ring2.
Sorry but I can't say the same of those episodes in season 4; I felt the payoffs, plotting and execution were weaker in general compared with previous seasons. I just wasn't impressed. I have more hopes for this season somehow, haha.
Ring part 1 had some good moments, as did Ring part 2. But they weren't as good as the previous episode and Ring Part 2 had an epically lame payoff to the bad guys. Also, last season's penultimate was superior in every way to the finale except for Sarah's vows which far exceeded my expectations.
I just saw the "10 Thumbs Down" castmembers just released on Twitter. I'm intrigued that Sarah Lancaster was in there with Zac, Yvonne, Adam, and Josh. They all seem to be wearing their "spy battle" costumes. You don't see Sarah in many of these BTS pictures and not many in that kind of outfit.
I wonder what role she plays in the penultimate episode. Those episodes often have the gang pushed to the wall and they usually fight back in the finale.
We'll be crying tears of JOY because there will be BABIES. (400 babies!)
Awesome and Ellie will have another baby who will compete with Clara in the most awesome sibling rivalry that ever did rival.
Morgan and Alex will (improbably) get back together, get married, and have a baby. Morgan will call it "the cute little Ewok" or something.
Casey and Gertrude will get married, have a surprise baby, name it Reagan (whether male or female) and be astonished over how hard it is to baby-proof their gun collection.
Chuck and Sarah will have TRIPLETS, and Sarah will be chained to the stove.
I'm sorry, am I writing shipper-wish fanfic again?
I agree that the penultimate episodes have been better than the finales, or the episode after for the midseason finals (Honeymooners, Seduction Impossible). Will see what happens this time.
Either way I probably will be a little sad to see it go, though I'm ready for it to end. As a general rule I don't think that a show should last past 5 seasons (with a few exceptions). That should really be enough to tell their story.
Obviously he's going to say it will be great.
ReplyDeleteWhat else is he going to say? 'The finale is crap and I couldn't believe we would write something this awful.' lol

By penultimate I assume you mean episode 11 or 12? The culmination of the whole story, not just the actual ending i.e. Colonel or Last Details.
ReplyDeleteSchwartz said this after he read the script right? or they finished shooting earlier then scheduled?
ReplyDeletePenultimate means next to last so, 5.12.

ReplyDelete"..Ring Part 2 had an epically lame payoff to the bad guys."
ReplyDeleteThat was a weak part of that episode I agree, but it wasn't that bad.. What would you have done?
