CHUCK SPOILER: the A-Team (4.18)

Chuck fights a GRETA -- Property of WB
This episode won't air until March 14th but since I could die long before then, here are the spoilers now.

Please do not copy and paste this to your site.  Linking to this blog would be appreciated.

The Greta's are revealed to be a training program for new super-agents.

Chuck crosses paths, and mission, with two agents who may be more impressive than him, but have a flaw.

Casey isn't the only one working for NCS.

  1. Thank You Magnus !!!!

You are the Master of all things Chuck!!

  2. 1) Super-agents = intersects.
    2) Flaw = What Ellie is working on, I think her research is spy related since awesome is not happy about it and she has fixed the flaw that chuck may have had but the new super-agents still have.
    3) Morgan is also working for NCS! yeah I know but why not.....

When will the NSA/CIA ever learn that chuck is special and was always the only person ever destined to have the intersect....he is a superhero!

  3. Lalala, the sun is shining and the spoilers are blooming! Let the fun (and bad guessing) begin!

Stacy Keibler and Isaiah Mustafa are members of a super spy program of the NSA and NCS.

Casey will be working with the Gretas, so they will all (3) be working for NCS.

Morgan will also be working for the NCS and his new apartment will be behind the secret door in Castle, hahaha.

The Gretas' flaw is that they are too cold and spyish, they don't take feelings in consideration (that is merely an ironic jab at some of the show's cheesiness).

Oh, Magnus, please give us some more spoilers, so we can let our bad imagination elaborate the most ridiculous scenarios...

  4. This episode does seem to have a more interesting plot than other recent ones have in their descriptions and spoilers.

But, in regards to Chuck's impressiveness, if 413 proved anything, it's that the Intersect isn't ultimately what makes Chuck impressive.

The idea Amrit had about Ellie working for the NCS is interesting. I'm not convinced the show would go there, but it would be cool if her fellowship were secretly sponsored by the government to work on their projects. It's a good idea even if the writers may not use it.

  5. I got it !!! Jeffster is working for the NCS too along with Big Mike !!!

    LOL

  6. "Casey isn't the only one working for NCS."

    Hmmm Moma B?

  7. Couple comments based off of Magnus's spoilers:

    1) I spec'd that the Gretas were being trained at the BM on another site. Trained for what? Well that is the bigger question.

    2) I don't think that the Gretas will be intersects. I think that they are just very highly trained agents. After all, Sarah and Casey are considered "superspies" too. If they are intersects, the flaw is obvious. If they are not, the flaw could be something like the flaw Morgan found in with the rebuilt BM: they are too rigid in their thinking and locked into the conventional way of doing things.

    3) The last one is a bit trickier. An obvious one is that Frost was working for the NCS the whole time she was undercover. It could be why no one in the conventional intel community didn't know anything about her mission. If the Gretas are intersects, then the person working for the NCS (albeit likely unknowingly) is Ellie. She is given a research assignment at the hospital that is being covertly funded by the NCS that deals with the Gretas.

  8. Very interesting teasers.Have to think more about 1 and 2 because the I don't think its the obvious answers but something different.

But #3 is interesting. I think the other NCS agent is Mary Bartowski. She needed some contact with the outside world during her 20 years and as Bentley has more info than Beckman it stands to reason that she may have been working with them or has now been recruited by them.

The other choice is someone in Sarah's family, her mom probably, and that would seem possible as how did Graham know about Sarah and recruit her to the CIA in the first place? It also lends support to the whole "complicated" relationship she has with her family.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Changed my mind. After reading ANB's thoughts I'm leaning towards it being Ellie working for NCS with research covertly funded by them. That fits with the synopsis of the episode well. What I do hope this all means is that the long overdue end of clueless Ellie is finally here. I'm really hoping its the growth of the Sarah Ellie relationship that moves Sarah to tell Chuck he finally has to be honest with Ellie. Time for her growth with the idea of family to help Chuck do what he should have done long ago.

Plus it means more screen time for Sarah Lancaster and that is also long overdue.

  10. Remember everyone that Magnus teasers / spoilers are twisted!

"Sarah leaves Chuck for another man" = Sarah leaves Chuck and goes on a mission to bring down Volkoff

So think outside the box for these too.

"The Greta's are revealed to be a training program for new super-agents."

"Chuck crosses paths, and mission, with two new agents who may be more impressive than him, but have a flaw."

"Casey isn't the only one working for NCS."

  11. Will we ever see any fallout or side effects from what was done to Chuck during the "Phase Three" episode?

And will we ever see Chuck have to babysit Clara?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I loved the Patty-cake Valentine's love scene between Morgan and Alex, and the look on Casey's face when he walked in on that scene.

Will we get more scenes like that? I'm not sure if Casey's character can tolerate more embarrassing moments that involve his daughter and Morgan before his ire and disgust push him over the edge.

  13. I am just wondering why are they calling S04E18 Chuck vs The A-Team when they already had an A - Team episode. Is it just me or is that weird.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hola Amigo - kinda unrelated question regarding all the work that went into the Project ISIS files published on the NBC Chuck site...
Do you know if they are important?
Seems like an aweful lot of work to create such a fictional document - if it really has no purpose.
They have made mention of lots of other interesting things on the show - and never once made the effort to type out and publish...
Just wondering if you've any notion why all the effort?
~ cheers - the Gringo Chuck Fan

  15. The Greta's are revealed to be a training program for new super-agents. Cool it is about time they had a purpose.

Chuck crosses paths, and mission, with two new agents who may be more impressive than him, but have a flaw. They do not have emotions and are incapable or rational thought.

Casey isn't the only one working for NCS. Isn't director bentley and the GRETAS working for the NCS.
Pretty lame spoilers get well soon.

  16. @Greg, I'm thinking the "A-Team" refers more to being the "first string" or "starters" rather than an "A-Team" (which describes a tactical unit of Special Forces operator) for which the TV show was named for. I'm sure they'll go for the world play of Casey's A-Team being the new "first string" spy team, while Team-B (B-Team) becomes the "second string".

  17. Yea that makes sense @armtnurseboy thanks

Yeah armynurseboy I do not think so, Team B has taken down Fulcrum, The Ring and Volkoff. There is no way that they are anyone Team B, the title probably means that the episode is about the competition for who will be the A - Team, Casey's new super agents or the Awesome Team B. My money (well since the gretas are only in the one episode (as per usual for a CHUCK story arc)) is that Team B will be the eventual A - Team! But it is going to be great seing the teams try and rival each other and for chuck (the character) to outsmart them! Casey can then turn around and say we are the best we are strong (total firefly reference)! Let the games begin!

    Magnus,

Will chuck have a bachalor party? If so, does it sound awesome?

  20. Episode 21 will be called Chuck versus The Wedding Planner...will it be an episode that will dive into the whole Sarah family stuff?

Also i assume episode 18 is Casey centric, will any of the stuff there carry on to later episodes...i mean spy wise?

    Thx in advance.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I looked at the cast call for CVT Wedding Planner. They don't seem to be related to Sarah or Chuck so team B must be assigned to crash a wedding.

  22. "Casey isn't the only one working for NCS."
That can be one of three story options.
    1) DUH. There is the Gretas, Robin Givens,
    2) An NCS mole is exposed
    3) Another character ( like Morgan )gets or has been ( like Moma B ) recurted.

Morgan is too loyal to Chuck to wanna go to the NCS. Plus I don't think the NCS would want him.

Could it be that Big Mike got more than buisness school training?
Could one of the nameless buy morons be an NCS mole?
Will I go crazy waiting an extra week for this episode to air??????

  23. Will we ever see Morgan, Sarah, or Casey babysit Clara? It would be so funny to see Casey being asked by Ellie to babysit Clara and to see Casey's reaction.

Of course, I wonder if it would even be in character for Ellie to ask any of those characters to babysit her daughter. Will Ellie even return to her work as a doctor (and thus need to hire a babysitter) or would she choose to be a full time stay-at-home mom?

And what is the likelihood of Sarah's dad returning to the show in time to walk Sarah on the wedding aisle?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't think Ellie would ever become a stay-at-home mom. But would she ask someone she doesn't think knows anything about babies to baby-sit? We shall see.

As for Sarah's dad returning... it wouldn't seem right if he wasn't. But we shall see.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Let's face it, a wedding without Jack Burton just wouldn't be as sweet especially if this does end up being the series finale. I have 2 theories on this subject.

    1. Sarah will ask Casey to walk her down the aisle especially after what the NCS story seems to be heading towards. He will accept but Casey will be the one who surprises her by finding him and have him walk out to walk her down. He has always seemed to have a soft spot for Sarah and Jack as we saw in DeLorean and with his new relationship with Alex would not want to deny Jack that special moment.

    2. Ellie's "research" is actually into Sarah's past and family and out of Bartowski love of family she will find him like Chuck did for her.

Besides we have been lucky to have virtually all of our favorite guest stars back and Gary Cole is the only one left not to come back.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Why haven't we seen any side effects from the "Phase Three"episode?

And will Chuck be asked to babysit Clara sometime? He IS her uncle.

    ReplyDelete
  27. jill and cole haven't come back.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why are you expecting a side effect from Phase Three? When has this show bothered with that kind of stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  29. the side effect was "everything is a little hazy" or whatever that was.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh hello Magnus, I'm glad you still alive, I hope you healed and feel better ;)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I guess this show has never actually bothered with "that kind of stuff" before.

Anyway, when are we getting more sci-fi and spy-fi elements into the show's mythology? We have smart bullets that can turn corners, the Governor, the Intersect, a nano-chip, tranq gloves and most recently the key to the entire Hydra network in a prosthetic eyeball.

We need more cool spy-fiction gadgets to intrigue us fans and viewers, and a little bit less of the Charah and Morgan/Alex relationship focused stuff that get in the way of good mythology storylines and spy plots.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I do hope you're feeling better, Magnus.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Do you think there should be any references in any upcoming episodes about the recent real life events in Egypt or about the 2011 snowstorm in the Midwest?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sci-fi elements? I guess you could say it is coming in 4.18.

    ReplyDelete
  35. that third clue i think has to be ellie - i hope it is anyway - they sideline sarah lancaster wayy too much

    ReplyDelete
  36. Magnus, I hope we get more embarrassing moments for Casey as well as more opportunities for Casey to be badass.

This is barely related to Chuck, but I am really outraged that the movie Tangled didn't get an Oscar for best song. Zachary Levi's singing was quite lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  37. You shouldn't be outraged. There was no way it was going to win. The Oscars were very predictable this year. At least Zac sounded really good.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Magnus,

So besides Mar 7th no Chuck do you know if there will be a long period of no Chuck in the near future like December 2010 or just the miss a week once a month?

    ReplyDelete
  39. CVT A_Team synopsis:
"Chuck and Sarah investigate when they suspect that Casey is carrying out private missions.
Meanwhile, Chuck fears that the CIA’s seemingly-perfect new operatives will render him obsolete.
Elsewhere, Morgan settles in with a new roommate,
and Awesome panics when Ellie embarks on a potentially dangerous line of research."

I don't think Morgan is rooming with Casey. If he was then Chuck and Sarah would use Morgan for intell.

I also don't think Ellie is working knowing or unknowing for the NCS. NCS would have their own doctors like the CIA when Chuck "lost" the intersect. Ellie digging into Sarah's past doesn't make much sense either. I could see Chuck doing that poorly like he has all four seasons. Awesome gave Chuck the laptop from the car so I don't think she is working on Orions reasearch either.

We got an extra week to stew over this :(

    TS

    ReplyDelete
  40. There is always a long break during the December holidays. Nothing else like it will happen. But I am sure they will take another break at some point. Maybe a week or two. I don't know when that will happen.

    ReplyDelete
  41. So according to Mo Ryan interview Jack Burton is comming back in episode 21...but they are also not very clear about Sarah mom, they have been setting up her appearance this season, it would be weird if she hasn't appear...can you say anything about that, will we hear or see her this season?

    ReplyDelete
  42. PAPA BURTON IS BACK!!!
    Via MO Ryan

    ReplyDelete
  43. I have only heard about dad showing up. I guess I should have put that out there this week. I was going to wait until next week. Oh well. Scooped by Mo Ryan. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. People may not believe me, but I thought this might be a Jack Burton episode when they released the info about it involving a Hungarian scientist with a daughter whose about to get married. And three sons.

Sounded a little like a scam because the names of the sons were silly--Bruno, Franz, and Paulie--and there were conveniently three of them.

"Bruno" could be Casey, "Franz" could be Chuck. Morgan sounds like he could be a "Paulie".

    ReplyDelete
  45. Great news about Gary Cole. 4.21 airs April 25th so three more weeks off in April coming. Hope he is back for 4.24 as well but I expect he will be.

Anyone want to make a bet 4.24 is called Chuck VS The Ring part 3?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Adding to the comment about Sarah's mom...

Just because they mention her mother doesn't mean they are setting up an imminent appearance. Chuck's mom and her disappearance was mentioned in Season one.

Maybe her mother was just brought up to explain her absence.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ok, Magnus, but I'll still be mad that Tangled did not get an Oscar. And I'll be mad that Tron Legacy didn't get an Oscar either.

Ooh, Sarah's dad returns! Very cool. Is he still a con man, or has Papa Burton reformed? I do think Sarah's dad was a jerk to be using her in his cons when Sarah was a kid. Sarah should confront her own dad about how he never gave her a normal childhood.

    ReplyDelete
  48. uplink,

    I'll take that bet.

CVT Ring part 1 is when we are first introduced to "The Ring" by name.
CVT Ring part 2 is then "The Ring" is taken out by team B.

My guess is CVT Wedding Party, CVT Inlaws, CVT Chapel of Love, or CVT Wedding Night

  49. "Casey isn't the only one working for NCS."

While Morgan seems to be the prime person I think the fear of Casey will keep Morgan out of the NCS.

Casey planned on having Morgan move out. I don't think he wanted Morgan to move in with him. But then again he is a super spy so this could be his way of controlling what goes on between Morgan and Alex. ( no more blindfold chocolate pattycake )

    TS

    ReplyDelete
  50. Here's a throw-out guess: Beckman is also working for NCS.

I wonder if TPTB might throw me off guard (in a good way) and NOT have the wedding in the final episode of S4. Assuming the wedding will be held this season.

    ReplyDelete
  51. It will happen, unless the two broke up. The planning is already on the way and having season and possibly the series end, with them still planning wouldn't work. Specially since Fedak doesn't do epilogues.

I am still pretty set on Ellie working for NCS unknowingly. About anything else, I don't really even care to think about. I am sure it'll be great. Speculating is fun, until you start to only imagine only the bad scenarios.

It's fun to watch the series for change, when you're not feeling butthurt, if things don't go your way.

  52. Can't wait for 4.18 to air.
Hope all the remaining episodes are as good or better then 4.17. Altho I'm a bit worried about 4.19 being a poor performer like 4.15 was.

    TS

    ReplyDelete
  53. I was going to ask why you would think 4.19 would be a poor performer... but then I realized, I don't care.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The information floating around about 4.19 is that Team B needs to solve a murder that happened in castle. Sounds like a replay of who's the mole in 4.15. Is the mole Sarah? - can't be the star of the show, Carina? - no Zondra? - too obvious. Magnus you must agree that 4.17 was a far better episode than 4.15.
