  1. I missed this episode. It's driving me insane, because I wanna listen to the podcast too. I have some knowledge of what happens. I assume there will be some crazy shipper bashing.

Because I assume this is their last few moments of life before they plunge themselves off buildings/bridges/high places.

Next up, however, is Chuck Versus The Fake Name. I think. Which is when Chuck learns Sarah's real name. I wonder how this scenario will go...anyways, looking forward to this podcast. Will be downloading it on iTunes (which needs to have Season 3 episodes...quick-like) tonight.

Oh yeah, and I voted for Chuck Me Tuesdays. I strongly encourage this to any who read this comment. Go do it. Now.

  2. My problem with this episode was not in what they did but how they did it. And there is no real crazy shipper bashing.

Thanks for the vote... though, it is Chuck YOU Tuesday. :)

  3. My bad. Chuck Me Mondays, Chuck You Tuesdays, Chuck Me Out, We Heart Chuck...Chuck...Chuck...

No crazy shipper bashing? Do they maybe have some justification for what is undoubtedly being said on NBC's Message Board? Even if it's just "how they did it" rather than "what they did."

  4. I don't know what they are saying so... no clue. However, I felt that it was all in the execution. It demonstrated a lack of care. I just don't think it was done well and it makes me worry because this kind of episode should have been handled better. But I do have faith in the show since every time we get an episode like this, the next tends to be pretty awesome. That is what has always kept the show from going off the rails.

  5. rickfromillinois - The last 15 minits were possibly the worst 15 that I have seen in years.

  6. I won't disagree. Well, maybe not all 15 minutes but parts of them. Though, it is all made worse by the 3-week wait. It is too bad because now fans get to imagine the worst for longer when it is just another "Beefcake."

  7. Great podcast Magnus. On the issue of Family show. There is a reason for the TV rating that is flashed in the corner of the TV. I believe for CHUCK it is TVPG-13. Just saying :-)

  8. I finally watched it. About 15 min ago. I did however, read articles about the show before viewing. More specifically, the Double Edged Sword of Devotion or something. Schwartz twittered it. Tweeted? Whatever.

Also took a look at Alan Sepinwall's review. This talk of boycotting the show is insanely dumb. But, not entirely unexpected. And Sarah hasn't even done anything except display a casual interest in Shaw. I saw more hints of her still liking Chuck than Shaw. As for Chuck, he's sort of the "bad dude" in the whole scenario, but I don't think he believes Sarah will give him a second shot. If he did, I don't think he'd be pursuing Hannah. Only Sarah knows what's going on in her head, but she has conveyed pretty clear jealousy.

The ratings were scary for that episode. It was what...a 2.2 rating? That's terrible. Maybe cancel worthy. We lost .2-.3 that week. How much of that do you think was due to crazy shippers?

Any plans on a podcast this Monday, despite it being Olympic time?

  9. We are podcasting on Sunday and it will be out Tuesday. It will be PG (since we will have Princess Bailey on) and we will discuss the first 7 episodes and more.

As for the ratings, every show not on CBS was down. It happens every year on the Monday following the Super Bowl.

  10. Are you guys going to cover how the critcs misinterpreted the fan reaction to this episode? It was getting coverage on Time magazine's website which shocked me.

  11. We plan to talk about the whole reaction, so yes. And Mo Ryan from the Chicago Tribune is supposed to be on episode 22 and we will talk about it then as well.

Agreed. This boycott things is ridiculous as far as I'm concerned. Personally, I really enjoyed this ep, it was exciting, and sure the ending was little rushed but it still works for me. There was also some interesting subtext during the "I have a type" scene between Chuck and Sarah. Chuck didn't pick up her hints that she was still interested; IMO, He really thinks his chances with her are over, plus he thinks she is really interested in Shaw (mix in there his low self-esteem issue and it everything makes sense. He probably thinks that it makes sense that Sarah could prefer Shaw over him.).

In short, Chuck and Sarah just are going on opposite directions right now, and after the Prague incident, it makes a lot of sense that they would want to try to move on with other people. It happens in real life, folks. I know the hardcore shippers DON'T want to see C&S dating other people. At all. But this is a tv show, plus they can't have the lead characters together so soon. These things take time, so please be patient and try to enjoy this show beyond just the C&S relationship. We all know they will get together at the end, which it's so obvious that I'm don't find it that exciting anymore, TBH. I guess I'm not a shipper, so I wouldn't mind if they ended up with another people. So far, it seems to me like both Shaw and Hannah would make better partners personality wise. Oh well.. really loving this season. CAN'T wait for the next ep! This show is so much fun. :)
