Chris Fedak tells LIES about CHUCK Season 5

IGN talks to the show runner. OK, so maybe he doesn't tell lies. I just never believe anything a show runner has to say.

  1. It seems like this interview actually took place weeks ago. The answers to the questions aren't that much different than the Comic-con interviews.

Fedak has never been good at teasing upcoming plots in a way that they actually sound interesting.

  2. "And Chuck doesn't have the Intersect anymore. So from a story perspective, we have to break the show in a little bit of a different way."

    Oh, come on.

  3. OK, read the whole interview and I hope Fedak had some tea mushroom before the interview, because no blinks in the world can justify:

    a) the return of Shaw (unless, like I said before, he is playing "frozen Shaw", "statue Shaw" or "robot Shaw", because then his acting would be perfect);

    b) the SECOND ressurrection of Bryce Larkin. I loooved him as a character but that is just too Fedak-y. Blah.

That aside, a growl-off could be funny if done well and Jill could always bring some interesting situations to the show. Dos Sarah even know that Chuck not only let her escape, but gave her the expensive ring?

"Gertrude Verbanksi" ist IMO just a stupid name. It is supposed to be funny because it sounds so matronly and then she is super hot, but it is too darn chliche.

BTW, will Linda Hamilton make at least one appearance or will she just disappear without a reason? Does she work for the CIA? Do they bother to find a reason why she doesn't join the Charmichael Industries?

  4. Your a lil` troll Magnus :X :)) i read his interview and if what he said is true then maybe season5 will not be so awful (for me anything is cool except for love triangles and Morgan as a lead character)

  5. I'm the troll? You are one of the people freaking out over a nothing issue like Morgan taking over the show from Chuck.

  6. Mamemomou, as I have been telling you all for over a year, Bryce WAS originally alive in season 3 and had Shaw's arc... well, it was a bit different.

  7. Oh how I wish we had gotten the Bryce arc instead of the Shaw disaster. Yvonne worked so well with Matt and he had way more charisma then Shaw. Marcus, why did you have to remind me?

  8. Some more spoilers are up and it looks like the buymore is going to be where a lot of the series takes place in the final season. It looks like they will have conventions, sales competitions, etc in the buymore. I bet the embassy suites thing is done in a redocorated sarah's hotel room, lol. They really have no budget this year, lol. All the more reason to just turn this into a procedural and give the fans what they want, 13 X 42 minutes of Chuck and Sarah doing it! hehehehe

  9. I am more than happy that more of the show will happen in the BM. I have been asking for it for two seasons. Hell, I wouldn't have anything happen outside of the BM unless absolutely necessary. Best way to save money, thereby actually making this show look expensive because you are not spreading the money around too much.

  10. Yeah I can see where you are coming from, because they are based on the WB lot they have to use green screen wayyyyyyyy toooooo much! For some reason their green screen is not that great, well the paris green screen was good in 3.13 but the rest is dodgy. I think the worst has to be sarah in the episode gary cole was back and the gondola scene in fear of death. I agree with you that if they are in the buymore at least you are getting real scenes (LA) since there are no tax incentives/credits/exemptions/etc. Also the 2 year thing...since season 2 they have had their budget slashed to crappolla...lol. hence...Chuck and Sarah sitting in a tree K I S S I N G...first came love second came marriage and third came a season of 13 episodes of them making out or doing it! or network tv 8pm version of doing it, a bit of cuddling the odd noice of pleasure, kissing like teenagers, etc.....

  11. It isn't the green screen on its own, it is the time/money they have to make it look seamless. You can make virtually any green screen shot these days look like it was shot on location. But if there is some kind of lighting/color matching issue, then you need more time and money to do it. And I think sometimes the producers just figure... most people will never notice it so just leave it this way.

    Saves time and money.

  12. Can they "borrow" green screen from other WB productions? I mean is there like an archive that the WB has of all the green screens ever used? I remember you saying on one of your podcasts that in law and order they were standing in front of a courthouse and that was actually green screen, I wonder if Chuck could use that as well in an episode called chuck vesus the lawyer/law and order/new york crime/whatever? lol.

  13. They do that... but like I just said, it isn't the "green screen." You should just go do research online about how it works. :)

  14. @Razorback: I had forgotten about that, but had Bryce been then ressurrected it could have been more belieavable because the Ring was still active. Now it has been a whole season without the Ring, where was Bryce kept? He was really badly shot, he would have needed a top notch facility, which costs $$$, with no Ring, who would have payed for that during "season 4"? Well, being belieavable ist not one of this show's strenghts.

The Shaw arc might have worked with Bryce... Sarah returning to an ex-lover she trusted and with whom she had chemistry instead of falling for robot-superman. Even telling her real name would have been belieavable, since she had known Bryce for years.

  15. I want to counter what Jane said. Given all the pre-production talk of budget cuts, I'm actually surprised by how much location shooting has been going on so far. A lot of BTS photos have appeared from various locations that are not the WB lot. There's some being done today in LA from 3PM until 8AM tomorrow morning that allegedly will include a helicopter and gunplay.

Of course, they could be spending more on the first few episodes only to spend less later, ala that Murrrder episode.

When Fedak made the "Embassy Suites" comment, my first thought was "brand integration" and not that they would repurpose a set. It could be some kind of deal to use the hotel in the show in the way they did SuperShuttle.

  16. I guess they want to spend as much of their available budget as possible in useless places. ;) Still, it will mean many more BM moments at some point.

  17. Question about returning guest stars who would you like to see back and why ?:)

  18. I don't really care about MISSIONS happening in the BM, but please bring back the awesomeness of all random stuff the weirdos who work there did...MYSTERY CRISPER! WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE! FINGERS OF FURY! I could go on...

  19. bryce and chuck's father should be in the show with flashback. It would be a good for final season. We can remember all good stuff with flashbacks just like in 4x24
