"Chuck is the love machine".. never doubt that.. well. I hope that this phrase means what I think it does...

  2. I can't get the chorus from Jackson 5's "Love Machine" out of my head and it's blocking my brain:

"I'm just a love machine. And I don't work for nobody by you."

  3. Thanks for those spoilers.

Chuck as a love machine sounds great. :D

And a Casey/Morgan fight sounds intriguing.

I am guessing the unusual parenting resolution is something like having Jeffster perform live lullabies or probably their version of those.

  4. Hmm... I'm guessing the argument with Casey has something to do with Alex and.... Kathleen? o_O

As for Chuck being the love machine... I don't know what to make of it. Haha.

The third spoiler is certainly very intriguing. Hmmm.

  5. Sooooo.....What do Morgan and Casey argue about? Alex? Carina popping up in bed with him? Does Morgan getting involved with Alex mean Casey wants him out of the spy world so he doesn't break her heart like he did to Kathleen?

And Clara being a Jeffster fan is too scary to imagine.... :o)

  6. Magnus,

    Thank you for the teasers/spoilers!!
You will always be my hero!!

  7. Ouch. My music memory sucks at 6 in the morning.

"Love Machine" was by the Miracles. The Jackson 5 did "Dancing Machine".

I got the lyrics right, though.

  8. Baby Clara can only be soothed by bad covers of 80s jam. Muwahahahaha!

    Thanks for the spoilers!

  9. Actually just had another thought about the spoiler. Does Casey and Morgan's arguement having anything to do with Robin Given's character who offers Casey a job with the NCS? Maybe, seeing that Kathleen and Alex are doing okay, Casey decides to go ahead and take the offer and Morgan tries to change his mind.

  10. Morgan spills Grape Soda all over Casey... Casey tells Morgan that he can never have Grape Soda again! That would be emotional...
hmmm - or it has something to do with Morgan meeting Alex's mother. We all know the 'bearded wonder' just can't keep his mouth shut.
Chuck is the Love Machine - I'm sure that a couple of Sarah's old team mates want to see if they can steal Chuck - or at least create a lasting impression!
I'm thinking that Chuck's insecurites will start to show again : )
Just imagine if Jeffster needs to record a lullaby mix for Clara? That would be hilarious... poor Devon.
I'm also wondering about a certain BLIND item that was floating around - about a mysterious cast member with a "secret" that they were once married?
    - Sorry but I was thinking that if it was in reference to Chuck - it was either Jeff... or Sarah!

  11. DR, does the argument between Morgan and Casey have something to do with Carina's visit? Also, will we be seeing Kathleen again before the season finale?

  14. What a strange caption under the photo. "Sarah... still hot".

As opposed to she will not be longer so hot in the future? (troubles in paradise? pregnancy? Nah, I read too much into it probably)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ah, I wake up. You mean still hot despite the mask? That makes sense, although of course unneccesary remark.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dear lord... what is wrong with some people?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah, you told us you hide clues everywhere. So what do you expect from your readers? We are looking for hidden meanings everywhere. It is all your fault, you know ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Magnus: Lol, just give up on trying to explain captions to people. Let's just sit back and enjoy how hot Sarah Walker is and always is.

    ReplyDelete
  19. ''Dear lord... what is wrong with some people?''

Did you just ask YOURSELF a question? :/

  21. Do you think if chuck was released in different day it could get higher ratings????

    ReplyDelete
  22. We have to do something...
    we need 2.0 to survive

    nerdbellydancer

    ReplyDelete
  23. We may not need an exact 2.0, I mean the cape is gone, the event is gone, harry's low has the same demo as chuck but in an easier timeslot. I think NBC must know that if they moved chuck like fox has with fringe to fridays that we have a decent shot at being successful. But the fact is monday at 8 is like the toughest spot on a schedule and yet other shows who have easier spots, move advertising, bigger budgets, etc are pulling the same numbers....I think we need 1.8-2.0 and we could see a final season, but it is too tough to call, we need to see in 4 weeks where we are before we can really and truely panic!

    ReplyDelete
  24. love machine? is chuck gonnna sing?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think NBC realizes that monday at 8 is the hardest to compete with, when you got, HIMYM, 2 1/2 men, and dancing with the stars to compete with. and Besides we may only have a 1.7 rating but NBC knows how loyal the fan base is. and think of it this way

If chuck was on the CW it would be the highest rated show. Chuck gets more viewers then Gossip Girl and 90210 combined. lol

    ReplyDelete
  26. Magnus (and anyone else who has insight),
Can you explain how NBC.com/Hulu factors into the ratings game? Obviously it does not count for the neilsen #s but is that something they (network execs) take into consideration? I watched live last night and do so every time I can but that certainly is not every week. I also do not believe I am a neilsen house so that is moot but if i cannot watch live, I always DVR and watch on Hulu rather than downloading illegally. I also end up watching it at least one time on hulu regardless just because I love the show enoug to want at least a 2nd viewing. Any insight into how that might help the cause?

  28. Chuck being a Love Machine? Exciting!!!
The Morgan spoiler tease sounds painful, in more ways than one.
You know it's odd, Jeffster always leaves an impression with me as well, just not always good.
    I love those demented guys!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Interesting that it says Chuck is "the" love machine rather than "a" love machine. I wonder if that's an important distinction.

  30. Greg G:

Read this. It's a very good piece on ratings, online viewing, etc.:

  31. After seeing Yvonne with the small mask on in my opinion she should be Catwomen in the next Batman movie. I'm just sayin...

  32. After reading the initial synopsis for 4.17, I now fear that I may have been right about Carina causing a temporary breakup between Morgan and Alex. Magnus, please tell me that I'm wrong.

  33. Hmm, interesting:

    1. DR/Magnus spoiler of 4.16:
    "Chuck is the love machine"

    2. From short synopsis of 4.17:
"Morgan's search for a new roommate has unexpected results."

So, logical deduction: Morgan decides in 4.16 to look for his own place because he couldn't take anymore Chuck's "tons and tons of sex". Or is my dirty mind in overdrive since the belly dance? Could be, could be..

  34. rich says
So..... we should really be paying attention to "C3"?
or, is the 18-49 rating a "C3" for that age group?

    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  35. Chuck encourages Vivian (Lauren Cohan) to get in touch with her inner villain for a mission; Morgan’s search for a new roommate has unexpected results.

    ReplyDelete
  36. rich, C3 is the rating for 18-49 that includes all valid views counted for the first 3-days. Those aren't usually released to the public. Advertisers pay for that number. But it doesn't tend to be a huge departure from the number released the night after.

    ReplyDelete
  37. "Chuck is the love machine" sounds like it could be a Morgan line. But, it also is reminiscent of the Jeff and Lester conversation about Chuck attracting so many women during the time he started dating Hannah.

We haven't heard them comment on the Chuck & Sarah engagement yet.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Chuck is LITERALLY the "love machine."

    ReplyDelete
  39. my thought is the intersect (being a machine) somehow gets involved in chuck's love life, I can think of some ways that would make for an amazingly funny story - picture an exhausted sarah going 'chuck, don't you dare flash AGAIN' - but .... nuf fanfic ... probably will be something to cause chuck and sarah some sort of misery to overcome

    ReplyDelete
  40. I didn't say Chuck is ACTUALLY the love machine. I said LITERALLY. I use that word correctly and not in the hyperbolic way many people do.

    ReplyDelete
  41. rich says
as in he gets labeled the love machine by someone...? it IS valentines day after all...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Will Casey's exclusion from the new family - Kathleen, Alex, and Morgan - lead to him considering the job offer from Robin Givens's character? Is his fight with Morgan related to all that?

  43. So with synopis for episode 17 now out, my question is, when will we be getting into the whole Sarah past/family stuff that was so nicely setup in last episode. Will it be something toward the end of the season or just after the Vivian character 2 episode arc.

Btw how many episode can we expect this Vivian character to be in?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Rich says
I think that starts next episode. Chuck is trying to help out the process by reconnecting her with her old spy team. as for actual family... I hope that happens soon too. I hope Gary cole isn't too busy!

    ReplyDelete
  45. @Harku

She'll be in 5 episodes. That's what I read her say in recent interview, I'll find the link if you need it.

  46. Chuck is Code Name: Love Machine.

Okay, maybe not, but if that were the case, that would be hysterical.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I saw somewhere, can't remember where that 4.16 could be considered a valentines day episode. So I guess Chuck will attempt to pull out all the stops for Sarah to give her a nice memory to associate with Valentine's day. Or more likley he'll keep trying and wtrying and hat ever plan he has will keep going wrong. Are references to Sarah's family seeded through the next few episodes or is it more of a single episode that explores them.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Love Machine: My guess is that sarah's team or carina on her own make fun of sarah for settling down with a nerd in a boring place like LA and sarah turns around and says chuck is a love machine! She say's he can go 42 minutes and 15 seconds! Magnus did say in one of the podcasts that having a friend like carina is like having a previous drinking buddy who has not seen you in ages and is suprised that you have changed and is like what happened to you?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Amrit, except the spoiler is for the following episode.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh man! that would have been great for 4.15. Alas I am still going with someone saying to sarah about chuck and she says he is a love machine.....

    ReplyDelete
  51. You will find out soon enough if you are right. :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. a week and a half isn't soon enough!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I remember reading one of Magnus' comments like a month ago stating that what Sarah says in response to her "Cat Crew" making fun of her is going to make shippers go crazy :)

I think everyone underestimates his... stamina...

    ReplyDelete
  54. I imagine there's going to be quite a few quotes that are going to be remembered in this upcoming episode. Really can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  55. oh wow.. now im really pumped up for the next episode

P.s. i can't stand people who keeps complaining on how much chuck has changed.. the character grew up people.. maybe you should too!

    ReplyDelete
  56. @Magnus:

Does Casey and Morgan's argument have something to do with Morgan looking for a new roommate?

Since everybody heard Jeffster's performance, who is suffering a lasting psychological effect? Is it actually the baby suffering or could it be Ellie and Awesome that are having nightmares with some Jeffster soundtrack?

"Chuck is the love machine." + "literally" = intriguing. Could you shed some more light here?

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Mamemomimi:

    1. As far as I know, nope.

    2. Nope.

    3. Chuck is literally defined as the love machine.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Chuck being a love machine reminds me of the one good moment in the mask that had me in stiches, when the bad guy says this guy is good a real casanova he used the blonde to steal the mask and the computer girl to open the vault. I love the way he calls chuck a casanova.....funny!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks! I am soooooooooo curious!
BTW, loved the podcast. And 4x09 as an emmy episode for Yvonne is clearly not the best choice.

    ReplyDelete
  60. 4.09 would be a great Emmy episode if the category was drama. The funny thing is, CHUCK is considered a drama, but the Emmy's would put it in the comedy category. So, for that, I would submit 4.14 for both Zac and Yvonne.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh and they could submit ANY episode for Timothy Dalton but I would go with 4.13... at least until I see the future episodes with him.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Some of those people from Glee have been nominated in comedy categories even though they never say anything funny.

    ReplyDelete
  63. GLEE is also one of the biggest shows on TV. People vote for what they know.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I don't live in the US, so I kept hearing about Glee (even if negatively, like on Community Season 1, hehe), and decided to watch a bit when a friend got a box for her birthday. I couldn't stand it. I wanted to die. Or to run away as fast as Forrest Gump... it was like my brain was yelling: "run, Forrest, run!!". It was awful. I just don't get it. What is the appeal? Well, let me try to forget about it and get rid of that psychological trauma.

Magnus, do you know (and can you elaborate on it) if there will be an episode where we see or learn more about Sarah's family? I love Gary Cole and really really really want him back, but I was hoping for some new family members.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Magnus said...

Please take note of this very wise and insightful comment. If you want the members of the Academy to nominate you favorite show, actors, or guest stars, then they have to know about them. Reviews are nice, but ratings are better.

    ReplyDelete
  66. While having ratings helps, it isn't the key thing that drives nominations, IMO. Showtime's Nurse Jackie got a nomination for best comedy actress and I didn't even know it was a comedy.

It doesn't really matter how many Nielsen people watch. It's how many Hollywood opinion leaders do. Glee just has had a lot of buzz in that way.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Ratings are mostly meaningless to Emmy voters. They tend to vote for who they know or who they are told it is cool to vote for... which is why fan campaigns are usually pointless. It is all a popularity contest.

    ReplyDelete
  68. J aks ...

    @ dkd or Magnus ,

Has Valentines day/night affected ratings in the past for shows that aired on the day ?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Chuck is the love machine = Chuck is wearing a t-shirt that says, "Love Machine"

Thanks to NBC for answering that one. :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. The promo guys totally spoiled your spoiler.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I was expecting a juicy "Love Machine" scene and all I got was a t-shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Obviously your expectation is my fault.

    ReplyDelete
  73. But dkd, did you see what Sarah was wearing in that scene next week! She's dressed up like a hot angel! Next week looks very interesting!

    AB

    ReplyDelete
  74. Just a joke, Magnus. Maybe I should have added an emoticon.

I wasn't actually expecting what I said in the joke. I believe I said somewhere it might just be a line of dialogue. That it is a t-shirt is funny.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I took it as a joke. I was playing right back at ya.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hey have people seen the new pictures for chuck versus the masquerade....that new girl is very pretty and looks nice with chuck....hum....are we going to get a love triangle, is it on the horizon? interesting....
