Great podcast. I was a little intrigued by the snippet of the Glee discussion. I am subjected to Glee discussion at work from people who laugh at me for liking Chuck.
ReplyDeleteI watch Glee, but the pedestal it is being put on is a little too high, IMO.
Magnus was taking the piss out of other chuck sites that steal an existing idea..... for example the subway footlong campaigne.... and pass it off as their own idea, actually not only stealing the idead but claiming that they created it, ran it and were solely responsible for it. So when he says that I should start an Emmy4Yvonne, it is instantly funny because you know where he is leading the audience, it is not rocket science he first mentioned this in the role models podcast!

But, people are welcome to try. Maybe they actually know members of the Academy. I don't.
dkd, there really isn't much of a chance. Fan campaigns for actors are rarely effective... for POPULAR shows. Our little show is not highly thought of within the industry, unfortunately.

ReplyDeletePicking the right episode is important. I mean, you want the voter to LIKE the episode and remember the performance. Plus, they would likely be voting for her in the COMEDY category. Phase 3 isn't a funny performance.

The episode itself was incredible . The double seduction , the belly dancing , Roan and Diane , the family stuff , Casey trapped in the wall , the belly dancing and THE BELLY DANCING !!
Just an all round great episode . Hopefully they can throw more of those type of eps in between the heavy oriented spy ones throughout the remaining 10 .
As for the ratings . I can't see NBC being that upset with the shows numbers . Happy ? Probably not . Content ? Sure . I mean they didn't renew Chuck for a 4th season hoping it would grow an audience . I mean that was pretty straight forward from the onset with what , all 4 or 5 promos they showed before the season started ( compared to the 10,000 there were of the EVENT ) . NBC probably hoped that Chuck would fill up that Monday @ 8 slot long enough for the other shows they green lit to fill that slot come mid-season .
The 1.7's are definitely not good . I just hope the show is still profitable for NBC at these numbers .
Not that it means all that much , but it's nice to see Chuck Season 4 in the top 3 of itunes .

I was looking at the rating for all the rating across the networks. Man really none of them are doing good. All of them are low. Hell NBC is still in a lot of trouble. Everything seems to be down. Only thing that good it the cable networks shows.

ReplyDeleteJane, Internet polls (like petitions) are MEANINGLESS. It is so easy to cheat that one person can vote 10,000 times in an hour. So, don't put much stock in that.

Just like how SUPERNATURAL winning the TV Guide cover poll was a joke, so is Chuck and Sarah winning any poll against top TV shows. In the end, it makes no difference. Our ratings don't increase. It is just a bunch of fans trying to make their love seem more important than it is.

Online polls are nothen but a bunch of bull. I dont understand them at all.
ReplyDeleteRich, I started the whole trend thingy in 2009 and we were very successful. And in that time I discovered something... it... makes... little to no difference. In fact, the last two times we trended, we received our lowest ratings.
ReplyDeleteNow, if we were able to trend ALL DAY and put it in the minds of people all around the US to tune in live, great. But we just don't have that dedicated group of people. We haven't had it since early season 3.
Truth is, outside of a few hundred people, this fandom is lazy.
I've tried to understand what the girl is saying to Sarah. I have play the clip in slow motion. There is a noise that covers the last word. Is that to keep it OK for prime time? Is it to drive us nuts? We'll find out tonight!!

ReplyDeleteI sorry it don't matter how much rallying we do or how much fan polls we have. It not going to bring up the ratings. NBC wont promote it barely and nelson family will not tune it. So really we can fight the good fight but it not going to change our status in the ratings. That how cult hit shows are. Look at Firefly.
